The room size in booking.com was given as 20m2 but it is more like 12m2. Just a bed and a chair. Too small for two people. Luckily I was alone but booked the queen bedroom. There were pictures of a toilet and a hand-basin but that is in the shared facility. There are no rooms with bathrooms. Reception was very friendly and it has a basic restaurant with locals who had fun and it was fun to listen to them.|The room and the shared bathroom facilities were clean. The kitchen was not that clean. They should not allow guests to wash the dishes and put them away themselves as this does not work. Why not take the dishes downstairs to the dish washer or install one in the kitchen? The glass jar with the tea bags was sticky. There is no stove, only a microwave. The place is nice and open plan, with big bifold doors which lead to the outdoor area. Brillant views of the mountain from the outdoor area, and the indoor / outdoor fireplaces kept us warm throughout. Read moreThe proprietors of this gorgeously sleepy village pub were the most hospitable, accommodating and generous hosts we have found in Taranaki, their food and venue is clean, welcoming, warm and their service went above and beyond to cater to their diverse clientele on the afternoon we patronized them. We highly recommend a family friendly, connection based outing at their venue for anyone wanting to experience the beauty of country culture!!!
