Karapiro Willows Luxury Bed & Breakfast — Hotel in North Island

The most peaceful and serene setting, with such kind and welcoming hosts, was the highlight of every place I stayed on my cross country NZ tour. I'm so glad I made the decision to be based out of this beautiful house for a few days - it's so well located to the highway and the beautiful experiences of the North Island, and the room was comfortable, quiet, and spotless. It felt so like home to stay here that I didn't want to move on! And the fantastic breakfast, and being able to sit out in the immaculate gardens and enjoy the local wildlife with the hosts, was an experience to be treasured (see pictures taken in the beautiful gardens). My strong recommendation is to stay here as long as you are able - do not rush this part of the country. Obviously Hobbiton is very close by, but it's a real treat to see the wildlife in the area at Sanctuary Mountain, or see glow worms on the nearby river at night. I'll definitely be back to this...

Luxury, the best bed, beautiful bathroom with a great shower, wonderful breakfast, and the loveliest hosts! Robyn and Vince are fab, entertaining, charming and helpful. I was staying for a few nights for a nearby conference, and loved every moment. The room was superb, ample hanging and storage, really comfortable, with a sliding door opening to a pleasant outside sitting area. This bnb has everything going for it, and I highly recommend it. A mere 10-15 minutes from Cambridge, and the same to the conference venue. You do need a car though! There is no public transport to the location, as the other guests who were going to the same conference found out. Robyn kindly picked them up from Cambridge, and I was able to ferry them around for the rest of the time, as we were all going to the same places. |I would stay here again in...
