We thoroughly enjoyed our 3-night stay. The owners are delightful and generous with their time and attention. |What a gorgeous spot with a million-dollar view. The gardens of this property are amazing, even in the dry season. Monarch butterflies and birds and busy honey bees were plentiful. Such a peaceful spot. We were impressed by the history of this particular site which includes terraces and the restored Maori site full of information and beauty. |Our room (#3) was delightful with a completely clear view of the water from the expansive front windows. Everything was new and clean and comfy. Such attention to detail. 😀. When I mentioned my love of gardening, Christine supplied several gardening magazines AND a beautiful vase of Shasta daisies and big dahlias from her garden got us to enjoy. |Christine and Drew gave us a lovely tour of the property that the have extensively brought back to life. Marvelous. |We were given lots of helpful info about local attractions and eateries. We saw the water gardens (AMAZING!), and enjoyed a breakfast and a dinner at Waiomo Cafe. |If you are looking for peace, quiet, comfort, and beautiful surroundings, this is your spot!!|We HIGHLY...

My partner and I stayed at this hotel in January 2013 and were less than impressed for the price we paid. Our arrival was very awkward as we walked in and were unsure of where to go or who to speak to, when the host came down the stairs he did not introduce himself as the host or offer to introduce himself leaving us to awkwardly say we are trying to check in hoping we have the right person.

We were then shown to our room which was less than expected. I would definitely NOT recommend the room we stayed in for any new couples or friends who dont want to hear each other go to the bathroom ... the bathroom door is wing door / saloon style door that takes up only a third of the door way which may make things uncomfortable for some people.

The final straw for us was being TOLD not to have long showers as they are running low on water and will have to shut up shop if they run out... to me if you are running that low on water, buy some more. We were offered no apology for this or refund.

For $140 per night i would not...

The location is fantastic, as are the hosts, Christine and Drew. The rooms are close to each other so it was nice to interact with the other guests in the evening. Christine is a great cook and the BBQ we had was first class. Breakfast was good too and her cakes went down so well with one of our group........she said it was top draw. We thoroughly enjoyed our stay and would recommend it to others. It is in a beautiful part of New Zealand and we spent hours on the balcony admiring the view.|Disliked · Similar to other comments re bathroom down the corridor but we never met anyone else. It is not a shared bathroom...... it is just not in the room. Also the drive up from the road is narrow and exciting but again we didn't meet...

Awesome and peaceful place to relax, water view from window room, spacious, small kitchen like amenities, great villa to book stop by for weekends for travels and explore. Upon arrival, the landscape was magnificant, beautiful gardens, presentation was lovely and it felt like home. Me and my Wife came from Hamilton to stay for 2 nights while planning our day trips along the coast for fishing. As we are like locals here that know the coast quite well, Te Puru La Casa was a hidden gem that we had our eye on for awhile! Thank you to Christine & Drew for a lovely service and welcoming If we were not planning to fish, we would be all around the villa exploring! We recommend to everyone, Thanks Christine and Drew for the awesome experience

Christine and Drew are a fantastically friendly and helpful couple of hosts who are very committed to their guests' journey. They have built some beautiful and well-kept surroundings, which you as a guest are invited to use as much as you like. Thank you very much for a wonderful stay.

Lovely sea views from our room! The room was just lovely when we checked in. The host was very understanding when we needed to check in later then scheduled. The breakfast and dinner we had was prepared well and made fresh, especially the sea food dish we had for our dinner.
