Lawn Cottages — Hotel in North Island

I can not stress how absolutely amazing Lawn Cottages were to stay with. They literally had everything you could possibly think of available, from kitchen utensils to an excellent laundry room. Beautiful well kept gardens, and the cottage itself, it was absolutely stunning. We stayed in the Flax Cottage and I could not get over how beautifully clean everything was, like to the extent where I wish I knew how to get my shower that sparkly and clean! (Seriously, what products do you use?!) The Cottages themselves exceeded my expectations of any place to stay, they were super roomy and comfortable so you didn't didn't up feeling cramped at all when having guests visit! There was air-conditioning in the Cottage for the sunny Hawkes Bay weather, fly screens on opening windows to prevent pesky mosquitos, literally everything has been thought of! The beds were comfortable, the wheelchair access ramps were handy for those who may require, we loved it so much that our Uncle ended up staying in the unit next door to us after we recommended Lawn Cottages to stay in for my Grandmother's funeral. My parents loved being able to relax and get away from the stress of arranging the funeral while visiting us at the cottages also. Within a month we ended up having 3 stays at Lawn Cottages & honestly the experiences were excellent. We stayed in the Pohutukawa cottage twice & the Kowhai cottage. We are a family of 4 adults with 2 being intellectually handicap & like any accommodation away from home we have specific requirements which Janie helped me with & reassured me about when I made the bookings. One thing we discovered after our first stay in the Pohutukawa cottage was we needed handrails for my brother to access the outside steps into & out of the cottage so as it was a health & safety issue (he had 2 falls down the stairs taking me with him on one of them) I mentioned it to Janie & within a couple of days & before our next visit two rails were built which we were extremely grateful for. It was really lovely having two bathrooms (a real treat for us) & there were plenty of towels, etc. We found the open plan layout great, the kitchen was perfect & it was a lovely surprise to see a loaf of bread, a bottle of milk & some eggs in the fridge. The beds were comfortable, there was a lot of natural light & there was plenty of space for the four of us & my brother's walker. We did use the laundry room & that was good. These cottages are very well equipped. The hosts think of everything to make your stay comfortable. We stayed in the newer Rose Cottage which was ideal for a couple. It is the last one around the back next to the main house. The cottages have great separation from each other and the gardens are beautiful. We never met the hosts and accessed the cottage via a lockbox but the communication was great via email and text. The cottage was modern and had a seperate bedroom with TV, good bathroom with plenty of toiletries and extra towels. The TV in the lounge room had Netflix and the kitchen had everything you could want to cook a nice meal. They also gave us a loaf of fresh bread and half a dozen eggs, plenty of butter and spreads and some oil in the pantry. There is also a guest laundry and clothes line free of charge. The location of the property is close to the cycle trail and handy to the wineries and cities. Clive itself is a great little spot with a butcher and four square. The other cottages looked just as nice as ours but the only fault I would say is that the neigbouring property over the fence looked a bit untidy and rough compared to the Lawn properties and the road noise can be heard around the garden but not inside with the...
