Failed to deliver on booking during peak season leaving us high and dry. We booked in to Long Bay Motor Camp a few weeks before after doing a call around, as we wanted to enjoy 3 nights away in our campervan before getting back to work. Upon arrival they were unable to find our booking, even though they had supplied details and we had fully prepaid on those details. Their solution was to put us on 1 site for 1 night, then another site for 2 nights. Which normally we wouldn't have been too happy about but would have run with as we understand issues occur and you have to make the best of the situation, however it was the approach of the staff that was dispicable. There were no apologies, no acknowledgements that a mistake had been made, and zero customer service at all. Instead they just said "you will be on this site tonight, then that site tomorrow night". When I questioned it, I was met with a very passive agressive response of "its the busy season". I expressed some concern about having to setup our annex twice to which I was met with "if you don't like it, you can have your money back". At this stage I decided to chat with my wife in the car, and we decided to look for alternatives before checking in there. When I went to tell them that, Les pretty much through our money at me.

We will never be going back there again, and highly recommend that you are very careful to confirm all details of your bookings should you be looking to go there again. Including asking if you are on one site for the entire time.

Note: I held back writing this review for 2 nights as I wanted to be reflect and see if I had contributed in any way to their actions, but I continue to feel that it was very poor customer service that led to the frustration we had over the situation. Les in particular was very...

Read the reviews befor booking thought surly it wouldn't be to bad as there were quite alot of good reviews, first thought on the place loved it, beach was beautiful and had lots to hire! I booked a non powered tent site for $30 per person per night total $60 which I though at the time was fine, then I seen we had to pay for wifi and showers, thought that was pretty shit considering iv just traved the hole north island and was on the final stretch of road. And hadn't come across this. I went looking for my site, the site they put me onto is what I'd call "over flow" camping it was roughly around 1km away from the actual camp ground for starters witch means, showers laundry and kitchen was ages away, they did have composting toilets down at the" over flow" camp ground which were feral, i would drive up to the public toilets at the entrance instead of using thier facilities. The site was on abit of a hill so no flat ground to actually set up. Camp ground was like a doc site which would of been fine if we paid $15 a person a night not $30. I think if your wanting to come here at lest make it so you are in the main campground, unsure on what the actual facilities are like on the main camp ground as I was to far away to use them. Personally I wouldn't be...

Loved everything about this place from the moment we arrived, our lovely host Leanne was amazing from check in to check out could not fault a thing! in all honesty. It truly is a place to recharge your Soul, Spirit, Body and Mind, a true paradise… The views of the bay are next to none, we had booked into the two bedroom cabin with own bathroom, kitchen and had everything you need for a comfortable stay, rustic in its appeal which really gave it character and gives you the true “Silver Fern” experience and a taste of what Aotearoa New Zealand is truly like. If you’re looking for a good laugh I highly recommend you talk with Leanne who is a Dag and amazing to talk with. The team here are amazing and the sweets people you will meet, really shows with the locals as well who always have a smile on their mug 😁

Long Bay Camping: We stayed here Christmas 2020, on powered camp site. We did not realise the power had to have a special cord to fit the plug. The owners kindly gave us one to use for our 4 month old baby. Weather: Was very windy but sunny. Owner: Two awesome people who live on site with other family members to take care of the camp site. Other campers: Were easy going and very friendly. Hot showers costed $50c Washing machines $4 Dryer $4 - There is a kitchen, lounge, freezer, fridge, bbq, elements. (All shared with other campers) Property: Very clean and well maintained. This campsite has two spots Long bay camp site area and Tucks bay area. - Tucks bay only has a long drop. But its a short drive or walk too Long bay campsite. ENJOY YOUR STAY :)

Such a beautiful location that you won't want to miss it. The staff are friendly and helpful. This park caters for everyone, whether you're in a tent or motorhome and they have cabin and non powered sites also available. Very close to Coromandel for supplies but far enough away to be at one with nature. Take the walking track to Tucks Bay or the Kauri track walk if you want something a little longer. Laundry and kitchen facilities on site and toilets and showers. Nice little BBQ area in the middle of the camp if you want to chill and mix in the evening with some of the other campers in the bay. Will definitely be back and if you're heading to Coromandel you will regret not stopping in here!
