As we entered the property another vehicle was exiting at the same time and there was a vehicle being put on a tow trailer we completely missed seeing a sign instructing all vehicles to stop at the office We drove slowly and carefully down to the beach area and saw the house back up the hill and went back to the house which is the office I told the man inside we would like to stay for two nights The man in the office said words to the effect that he had just got off the phone with the Neibour and that he had trespassers just enter on the property I said that must be us as we had just driven in He began to berate me loudly Really going off at me I attempted to explain calmly and softly but couldn’t get a word in He became very loud aggressive and threatening and wouldn’t let me explain Finally I decided that it would be better to leave I managed to get in that as he had stepped all over my mana as manuhiri Māori I didn’t feel welcome and was leaving I would have liked to tell him that I am related to This Iwi and that it was iwi members who had recommended this place too me but never got the chance As I was leaving he came out of the office and further berated my passenger who had said nothing to him We had other friends who were going to join us there and we told them to follow us elsewhere The place looked Loverly and but for the rudeness and stressed out person we had to deal with would have been a great...

Thanks Clem, you are doing a great job as new manager, really appreciated your help and...

A true hidden gem on the East Cape—just make sure to get in early during busy periods as it’s first-come,...
