Pay using a kiwicash tag. $20 a site. $2 for a 5 min hot shower. Recommend using the older toilet block especially if staying when it's busy as the new toilet block did not handle the traffic flow. The showers in the new block were iffy. Stop and go and cold. Don't think there would be a problem if it wasn't packed. Good outdoor area for cooking. Need your own gas bottle. There are smokers you can use too. There are fridges. There are washing machines and a dryer but we didn't use them. Unsure if they cost. A handy fish station. Go for a walk down the road to catch dinner. Make sure you take everything you need as there are no shops close by. The ranger of the place was super friendly and same with the cleaners. Highly recommend this place its clean, has everything u could ask for. most of all its still affordable which is becoming hard, especially if you have kids. Couple of short walks. The waterfall is doable with a Pram. The cave isn't Pram friendly at all as there are heaps of steps up and down.

Awesome campground, our first time using the KiwiCash system by KiwiCamp. Really easy to use, toilets and showers were spotless (Wasn’t expecting that). Laundry was ok but we couldn’t get the dryer to work and it still charged us. Nice big campsites with power. We had the place to ourselves and felt safe. Make sure you purchase your Kiwi Cash tag before hand and top it up (or book online) as there is no cell phone reception out there

PROS lots of camping lots, powered and un-powered very close to beach hot showers (kiwicash system, $2 for 5mins) laundry CONS not enough showers and toilets for the amount of people when its full (200+) kiwicash system needs a overhaul, tracking of tags if stolen or lost needs more parking spots for vehicles, bikes

For only $20 a night you can't beat it! Hot showers, bbq area with tables & grills in shaded area. Smokers down the back. Fish cleaning station with excellent fishing 5 mins up the road. Black sand so super hot!!! No shops, gas station or clean drinking water so stock up or the nearest place is over 1 hr away (Water next door). Staff do a incredible job keeping it clean!! Super friendly family oriented camp ground😍
