Marton Motel — Hotel in North Island

Stayed here for one night when we moved a relative to Marton. The motel has that nice welcoming feel about it. It's on the main road but you hardly get any noise from vehicles going past. Whats best is during the stay we never heard any noise from the other rooms and they had full vacancies that night. The owners are lovely people, as we arrived in a truck they were more than happy to move their own cars around so i could get the truck off the road. They have a small barbeque area and there is also a small creek with ducks swimming at the back of the motel. The rooms are small but very clean and comfortable despite they seem to have that 70's and 80's look and vibe about them which i think is cool. It's the only motel in the town of Marton so if your planning on staying it pays to book early as i heard from a local they are fully booked almost...

First off I had been disrespected from the beginning by Keith’s wife, because I was in emergency housing or maybe because I’m black , not to sure but she didn’t like me from the start when she was sooo excited to tell me I’m out of the motel the next day and they all booked out I left 5 mins after she told me her good news to me when really I had no where to go me and my babies, so I rather sleep in my car that night then put up with people who did not want me in there motel for the own sick reason. We were not welcomed on arrival and just told won't be doing service the next day, which being Xmas day I understood but when she didn't come to do service the next day she told me she said not for 2 days as she had family staying. You would expect a paying customer would be a priority. The pillows and beds were well past being comfortable. On leaving there was no Thank you hope you enjoyed your stay. The most uninviting motel I have ever stayed at. Maybe she needs to relook at her career choice as running a motel is not her forte.The only good thing was the shower...
