Absolutely beautiful location.. get in quick at peak season because they fill up quick. There is cellphone reception at the top where you first drive in or at the shop so you're not completely cut off. We loved staying there but there was one thing that really put me off. The toilets. While they are clean, the smell is absolutely horrific. We stayed in spot 7 and there was a long drop just up a little hill omg the smell would make your eyes water. Iv stayed at Doc camp and a couple other places in Whananaki all with long drops and they didnt smell at all. Honestly I dreaded going toilet and would hang on as long as I could then take sprays and incense in the loo with me just to make it kind of bearable.
