Motutara Farm — Hotel in North Island

Absolutely beautiful location.. get in quick at peak season because they fill up quick. There is cellphone reception at the top where you first drive in or at the shop so you're not completely cut off. We loved staying there but there was one thing that really put me off. The toilets. While they are clean, the smell is absolutely horrific. We stayed in spot 7 and there was a long drop just up a little hill omg the smell would make your eyes water. Iv stayed at Doc camp and a couple other places in Whananaki all with long drops and they didnt smell at all. Honestly I dreaded going toilet and would hang on as long as I could then take sprays and incense in the loo with me just to make it kind of bearable.

But hey ur a 1 minute walk from the beach and the best...

probably one of the best campsites I've ever been on my life. everything you imagine is just there. for example you walk into the showers and you notice there's mirror stuck in the wall so you can shave there's enough hooks for your clothing. it's a pattern on the entire campsite somebody has really thought about what they were doing here and put the love and sweat into this place and you can feel it and see it in every corner. it's not a huge flat boring area but it's this organically shaped rolling Hill with little nooks and crannies and the most amazing structure and campsites having multiple beaches to access. Absolutely stunning place to camp! Highly recommended. We've been going for years now and it's always worth it.

Facilities: -Long drop toilets -Cold showers -Freezer space if needed

Things we like: -Toilets and showers are kept very tidy -The camp site isn't overly crowded. There is decent space in each camp area.
