Absolutely incredible, 10/10. Firstly the property, a studio apartment next to the main house is 5 star in quality and is spotless. Secondly, the view is breathtaking you can just stare at it and drink it in for hours and last but not least your host Pauline is fantastic (her scrambled eggs are pretty good as well :-). I could not recommend this property more highly.. it is an outstanding place to stay and worth every dollar ... do yourself a favour and book this small slice of New Zealand heaven for a night, you wont regret it.

A delightful stop in a very remote part of the country. Pauline and Graeme made us feel extremely welcome and the cottage is well set up for guests with everything we needed for a very comfortable stay. The views are spectacular and right in front of the small deck in front of the cottage. Graeme is a dab hand at poaching eggs and the breakfast on the deck overlooking the view was a real highlight of our visit. Highly recommended.

The cottage was delightful and perfect in size for a couple. The view from the cottage was amazing and so peaceful. We were very well looked after and the breakfast was delicious, including home made jam and honey, eaten whilst sitting on the decking looking down on the Pacific Ocean. Heaven!

Located on a hill top between Hicks Bay and Te Araroa, this is a little gem. At the right time of the year you would be able to see the sun rise over the sea although in November when we were there, it was hidden by the hillside. The view looks out over Hicks Bay far below.||||The cottage which is the converted half of a farm barn is beautifully arranged and includes a queen bed along with a small but very adequate kitchen facility. Host Pauline provides an excellent breakfast of your choice as well as a very friendly welcome. As a couple staying 2 nights, we could not fault it and would happily return if the occasion arose. We used it as a base to explore Hicks Bay, Te Araroa and the...

We stayed here for two nights on our road trip around the East Cape and everything was perfect. Peace and quiet after a long drive, a wonderful view, small but perfectly formed accommodation with everything we needed to self cater. The breakfast was delicious and many homely touches (cake and home made honey to name two) made it a memorable stay. The drive out to the East Cape lighthouse (kindly recommended by Pauline) was the highlight of our day exploring the area. Monty (the dog) guided us down the slope to the beaches at Onepoto Bays and Hicks Bay and was an...

A visit to remember. A very warm welcome from Pauline, Monty and Graeme. A strong earthquake on our first night made for an interesting experience followed by Tsunami warnings that limited our options for the following day. Our hosts could not have been more caring. The breakfasts were substantial and Monty stayed close by in case of any surplus bacon which sadly was not forthcoming. The extras of fruit cake and honey were lovely touches and we could not have been in a better place on a day when travel was restricted. Thank you...
