Located on a hill top between Hicks Bay and Te Araroa, this is a little gem. At the right time of the year you would be able to see the sun rise over the sea although in November when we were there, it was hidden by the hillside. The view looks out over Hicks Bay far below.||||The cottage which is the converted half of a farm barn is beautifully arranged and includes a queen bed along with a small but very adequate kitchen facility. Read moreWe stayed here for two nights on our road trip around the East Cape and everything was perfect. Peace and quiet after a long drive, a wonderful view, small but perfectly formed accommodation with everything we needed to self cater. The breakfast was delicious and many homely touches (cake and home made honey to name two) made it a memorable stay. The drive out to the East Cape lighthouse (kindly recommended by Pauline) was the highlight of our day exploring the area. Read moreA visit to remember. A very warm welcome from Pauline, Monty and Graeme. A strong earthquake on our first night made for an interesting experience followed by Tsunami warnings that limited our options for the following day. Our hosts could not have been more caring. The breakfasts were substantial and Monty stayed close by in case of any surplus bacon which sadly was not forthcoming.
