Ocean Beach Wainui — Hotel in North Island

I stayed there with my daughter and her dad few months ago and was asked to leave because it makes the cleaners feel comfortable when they clean.keep in mind we’ve never been to gisbourne and didn’t know the area well enough to roam and the beach was freezing but anyways .they knocked on the door almost every morning to clean when I specifically told them not to clean if when need cleaning I’ll let them know,they then changed our rooms and asked me and my daughter to leave and come back in 4 hours when we did they were still cleaning the room we were ment to be moved in and continued knocking on our door every morning during our holiday we couldn’t even sleep in once.so if you want a quiet peaceful getaway with no interruptions or feeling of being judged in your own country I suggest you give them a miss,very unprofessional my daughters dad had said he’d found his things going missing by the time he left I would not recommend this place at all.we were there for almost a month because all other places were booked out we’ve been to almost hundreds of hotels here in nz and Australia this is the 2nd worst place I’ve experienced .actually think it was the reception lady that told me they like to clean all the time so it’s easier to stay on top of things..the silliest thing I’ve heard coming from a small hotel in the country where it’s quiet..personally I think I was profiled only because of my other experiences with a lot bigger and alot smaller motels...

My hubby and I booked a last minute escape at Ocean Beach, where we secured the Studio Spa Suite, a decision we did not regret. Upon arrival, we were warmly greeted by the front desk staff, whose friendliness, helpfulness, and informative nature immediately set a welcoming tone.

The room itself was impeccably maintained, designed with couples in mind, presenting an ideal sanctuary for a romantic weekend getaway. The absence of a lock on the bathroom door added a playful element, perfect for getting in a sneaky glance at one's partner while they’re showering 😂👀

The room's amenities were a delightful surprise. I particularly enjoyed using their toilet spray. It had a deep, earthy fragrance and reminded me of the scent of native forest and pine trees from back home. The spa bath, strategically positioned beside the bed, was such a convenience. Me, my wife and girls fell in love with Ocean Beach Motor Lodge. It will be our go to when we visit family. I'm a east coasty lad now living in Canada with my Canadian wife and two girls.
