Ohuka Lodge — Hotel in North Island

Really nice and cute place, great location of you are planning to do the Waikaremoana walk.

The host was really nice and they provided us with some fresh eggs, tea, coffee etc.

Place is a big enough for a family of four, and has all the basic amenities.

It does get quite cold in the winter, but there is a fireplace and electric blankets.

One downside was that the chimney seems to have been bit blocked as the fire wasn't going that well, and it also got bit smokey inside when we opened the hatch. But i may have been doing...

If you want to get away from the stress of the city to enjoy stunning views of forest, this is the place. The beautiful owners took us on a farm tour and told us the history of their farm and area. We saw wild birds, feral goats, deer on the tour. We also got to feed the 3 orphan sheep and cow. Nearby there is lots to see, beautiful fern forests, lakes such as the enchanting Lake...

Beautiful farm stay with amazing service. Jan the manager is super lovely and easy to communicate with. We were treated with feijoas, eggs and honey from the farm on arrival. The fire was all ready for us to light in the log burner. Everything was super clean and tidy and the gardens are beautiful! It was so lovely to have breakfast outside....
