Onaero Bay Holiday Park — Hotel in North Island

100 percent recommend stopping in here, myself and my nephew stopped on for a night as we were on our backpacking trip to Gisborne, Such a cool spot.

Loved the cold ice creams and drinks and they were affordable as.

Amazing facilities to, free shower was a huge thing for us unlike others that charge you extra to have a shower.

The river was so beautiful to swim in to, cold as and refreshing, The beach we couldn't swim in we tried lol but it was to rocky. Definitely would stay again..

A nice place to camp for the whole family, couples, friends. It's got a beach and river to be enjoyed for water therapy. Can also go kayaking/canoeing up the river which is a wonderful experience.Tranquil trip and nice scenery. A good/great place to do exercises/workouts. For e.g. bodyweight styled with resistance bands as well. The reception office has a cool little snack bar for your daily/now and again snack tendencies/needs/wants. Great river for swimming, and kayaking, etc, especially at high tide. Beach was great for swimming and Boogie boarding. Lots of people fishing in the river, or off the bridge. Nice big tent sites. Friendly staff, and icecreams, milk, etc available to purchase from the office. Was lacking reliable internet. There was a nice playground, and a toilet block with laundry and kitchen.
