My partner and I had the absolute best time imaginable at Patuha Lodge. The owners were incredibly friendly and helpful and the breakfasts were just what we needed to fuel our day while exploring beautiful Taranaki!||||The lodge itself has such a nice cozy and homely feeling. With access to a bar, pool table and movie lounge area, there are lots of fun things to do with your family and friends (even on a rainy day)! The grounds are looked after very well and even if you choose to spend your entire time at the lodge, you’d not be at a loss for things to do, like taking a walk down to the river or walking around the lush gardens. ||||I honestly couldn’t fault the room. It was perfectly clean and the bed was very, very comfortable. The bathroom has obviously just been redone and is stunning; my partner LOVED the waterfall shower! You can tell the owners care about making their guests stay as perfect as possible adding special touches like leaving locally made coffee in the room and some high end chocolates. There was also great access to tea and coffee making facilities with what seemed to be an endless supply of bikkies! :)||||Even though this was our first time staying, it will certainly not be our last! Thank you so much to the owners Sally and Harry for making our stay such a delight! Looking forward to coming back for another stay at your peaceful paradise (hopefully) soon!...
Read moreWe stayed 4 delightful nights at the Patuha. |Situated a short hop away from Oakura, the Lodge is 2km off Upper Pitone Rd and cleverly hidden deep in and bordering the Pukeiti Rainforest. |Brilliant birdsong begins every day and there is no shortage of activities and sights to see in the Taranaki region. Mountain action, beach walks, fly fishing or explore directly from the lodge. The trail to the Pukeiti rainforest leads right off the main driveway. |Our room was very spacious and the newly updated bathroom was spotless and as someone else has mentioned, great water pressure. |Common areas are also quite spacious and comfy cosy with views of the Pouakai Range -and you can even get a glimpse of snow peaked Taranaki if you wander down the property.|Sally. |SallySallySally. |We miss you! Thank you for the hospitality and the welcome. I cannot remember anywhere else that gave a welcome as kind as yours. |Plus we also really REALLY appreciated how you went out of your way to feed us. |We will be back...somehow,someplace, sometime but in the meantime... I hope we can send more friends to stay...
Read moreThe property itself is really unique to begin with, going down a gravel road and from farmland into the pristine, thick native bush until the lodge comes into sight.||There are a couple of tracks right on the property, including to a rather big stream, so you can have a small bushwalk and watch the Kereru and all the other native birds before you have even headed to Egmont N.P., so for nature lovers this is perfect.||Don't expect too much glamour and luxury from the rooms themselves, but they're perfectly okay, though a bit chilly at night if that bothers you. The lodge has a really comfortable, cosy communal area as well, and as there aren't too many rooms, you should mostly have them to yourself.||The food offered is solid, tasty kiwi cuisine which I believe is made by the host herself. She's welcoming and helpful.||Getting to and from good Taranaki walks as well as New Plymouth doesnt take too long either.||Thanks for the good stay.||Now we've stayed in Dec 13, not 16 but I don't think that makes any difference, although tripadvisor doesnt let me choose any date...
