Platinum Lodge — Hotel in North Island

We thoroughly enjoyed our Indulgence package stay at the Platinum Lodge. Trish, our host, was welcoming and friendly, really down to earth and super helpful from our first point of contact. We enjoyed a very relaxing massage shortly after arrival and both of the therapists were professional and friendly. The accomodation was great - we loved the spa bath - and the view to Taranaki maunga was wonderful. Trish provided a very generous complementary cheese and cracker platter with a bottle of bubbly which we enjoyed after our massage. And the next morning we had a delicious cooked brekkie delivered to our room. We stayed here 3 nights and thoroughly enjoyed our stay. The hosts, Trish & Dave, were very nice and helpful. Our room was clean, good size, modern, and well appointed. The bed was comfortable and we slept well, as the lodge is some distance from the road and very quiet. The views of the mountain and outside seating are quite nice. The bathroom is spacious with a shower and jetted tub. Our only complaint is that the shower is not enclosed, but the bathroom floor dries out quickly. We stayed here for two nights. We were meet by the lovely owner on our arrival, carrying fresh cookies and fresh milk for our room. We were pleasantly surprised at our outlook - the mountain view was just superb. The room was modern and spacious, with attention to detail - organic teas/coffees, warm comfy throws, current magazines, candles for the amazing spa bath (best ever!), luxury bathroom products (not the cheap ones you normally get in hotels) and doors that opened out into a lovely private courtyard.
