Taupo Farm Lodge — Hotel in North Island

This review has been long overdue. We had a lovely stay in the Taupo farm lodge during our NZ trip in 2019. Taupo is a beautiful town, the lodge a short drive from the town - convenient to pick up any groceries etc, and our friendly hosts made our stay wonderful and comfortable. We loved the breakfast provided and the bread Samantha baked for us, and the kids absolutely loved petting the animals. Our son talked about the Alpacas for months after. The day we were about to checkout, we had to make an unexpected visit to the medical center which took longer than expected, and Samantha very graciously extended an offer to stay another night for free, which we didn't take up due to our schedule, but that was awfully nice of her. She told us a lot about the local history and Taupo, and we had a nice time biking around Lake Taupo and seeing other sites. I would definitely recommend this to anyone in...

I had the most wonderful experience at Taupo Farmstay Lodge! From the moment we arrived, it felt like a peaceful escape into nature. The setting was absolutely gorgeous, surrounded by beautiful landscapes and the soothing presence of alpacas and other friendly farm animals. It was so much fun interacting with the alpacas – they’re such curious and gentle creatures! The owners were incredibly warm and welcoming, making us feel right at home. The accommodations were comfortable and cozy, with everything we needed for a relaxing stay. If you’re looking for a unique, peaceful getaway with a touch of farm life, this is the place to be!...

We stayed here recently with my two daughters & family members and had the BEST time! Samantha was such an excellent host and made us feel so welcome! It is only a ten minute drive to Taupo so you are close but when you are out on the farm there is nothing around you and it is such a perfect place to relax and unwind. If you have kids then this place is definitely for you, so many farm animals which the kids could feed, my kids actually squealed with excitement when we arrived!
