I was on our yearly road trip with 3 great friends of mine & we ended up late one night in Taranaki .Needing a place to stay, we looked up the google for a place to stay the night that could accommodate 4 over 50 men.||||We rang Te-Popo gardens & Amanda & Les were able to accommodate us.||||Arriving late (10.30pm) at Te-Popo Gardens we were greeted by both Amanda & Les & shown to our rooms where little treats were awaiting us all.||||The rooms were all very well presented & very clean & tidy.||||After a great nights sleep we looked around the beautiful native gardens .||||Amanda & Les hospitality was perfect.||||The following night we were over an hour away but decided to call Te-Popo Gardens & Accommodation to see if they could accommodate us all again.||||Another great night was had with Amanda & Les at Te-popo Gardens & Accommodation.|| ||I would highly recommend Te-Popo Gardens & Accommodation to anyone who enjoys our great outdoors comfortable accommodation & great hospitality.||||Well done Amanda & Les.||||Janine & I have just booked in for 2 night at Te-Popo Garden & Accommodation February 2021 & I know Janine will be totally blown away. We are both looking forward to our next stay. ||||Kindest regards ||||Janine & Richard Lloyd ...

Beautiful Gardens such a lovely property. However, we had a very bad experience with the owner. We got the tree top room for us and our young son which has a huge gap for stairs in the railing which he could’ve easily fell through. Explained this to the owner as i was concerned he is little and asked if there was anyway to change rooms i knew there were stairs when booking which was fine but the gap from the floor to the start of the railing was my issue. She was more concerned about us leaving her a bad rating and made it very clear she didn’t want a bad review and i should’ve done my homework.. Long story short we couldn’t change rooms after our chat we were told New Zealanders didn’t know how to parent and that my son should know better to not touch things and he needs to not be fussed over! I explained he was 18 months old and the outcome of him falling through the railing wasn’t a cut or a scratch it would be a fatal injury - not worth the risk. We were lucky enough to get a refund which we are thankful for but i would NOT recommend this place to anyone. I don’t care how bad you want a good review your attitude and lack of compassion...

I loved my time at Te Popo gardens. It is a small piece of Africa nestled into Taranaki, NZ native bush. South African NZ'ers will feel at home with the facilities, glorious life size metal sculptures of African animals and the serenity of the surrounds and have them coming back for more. Take the time to go on the short walk to immerse yourself in the NZ bush, see the plants and trees, and hear the running water of the stream as you transition through the subtropical rainforest. Take your time to smell the earth and bush and feel the temperature changes. Move quietly, engaging all your senses with child like innocence, grounding yourself in the present and the gifts of the bush. I will return with my family to explore more of the walks. Such a treasure and I applaud the vision, tenacity, friendliness and commitment of the lovely couple who keep it open...

The best place to see beautifull park. Te Popo’s 13 hectares enables you to stroll through parkland and woodland while looking out for secret gardens hidden behind pristine hedges. You’ll come across waterfalls, bridges and ponds and every season will amaze you with beautiful colours. Te Popo also offers boutique bed and breakfast accommodation set amongst plants, flowers and trees with the only sounds coming from birds and flowing water.

+ amazing Gardens at the property + Great hosts (thanks for the great evenings) + superb cooked breakfast and we even got to enjoy amazing dinner + Close (15 min drive) to next town = Stratford + Great starting point for hikes from Taranaki / Egmont National Park Visitor Centre = 40 min drive Highly recommended to stay at TePopo Gardens instead of the towns around if you want to enjoy nature and experience great hosts.

A great place to visit and stay over. The rooms are spacious and clean. The garden is awesome and well maintained. The animals are fabulous and make this place unique. The owners are lovely people and are so friendly and open for a chat. We have been there a few times now for murder mystery nights, fund raisers, music nights, lunch and sometimes just to picnic and hang out. Definitely a place I would recommend!
