We walked the Waikaremoana track in September with a group of 12 and stayed at this hut for our 3rd night. The hut was in good condition with a huge kitchen hut with fireplace, and separate sleeping hut/bunk room. There was some firewood when we arrived and we managed to keep a fire going all night which kept the kitchen hut very warm and cozy.    Read moreGood place and nice facilities, however, my worst hut experience thanks to a group of boaties and fishermen that chose it for their gathering. Taking over the huts campfire area, and using the kitchen and dorm room, making lot's of noise (shouting, swearing, fireworks) until early hours of the morning, while people were trying to sleep.
