Fernhill Cottages — Hotel in Rodney

Colin and Kirsty are wonderful hosts, who made the start to my new life in New Zealand an absolute pleasure. The cottages are very nicely located just to the north of Auckland, well appointed and comfortable. I arrived in winter and the cottage was easily warmed, and most importantly for me, had a really good and powerful shower.

The advice and kindness of Colin and Kirsty was first class. Always helpful, easily available for the moments when a new country presents those moments of bemusement to the unwary. My flight landed at an ungodly hour, yet they made their way out to the airport to transport me across Auckland and get settled. They are both a delight.

The cottages are not far from Albany with all its cafes and shops, but in the country, so are lovely and quiet, with Riverhead Forest not far.

I cannot recommend Fernhill highly enough for anyone who wants a hassle free, serviced and comfortable location to get their bearings when coming to NZ. After 11 weeks, I was sad to leave to move to my permanent home, and I shall treasure that time at Fernhill. Thank you...

Fernhill Cottages were a perfect find for us. We sold our house, hadn't brought our next home and needed accommodation for almost 3 months - with a dog! It was great to find something so close to where we previously lived and where we worked, but to be able to have our dog with us was the biggest thing. The cottage we stayed in was perfectly comfortable, with Sky Tv, power and water provided. We had extra's like a BBQ, storage and carport also.

We recently stayed at Fernhill Cottages, as a family of 4, plus 1 dog. We greatly appreciated the accommodation being dog friendly. The location is lovely, NZ bush setting, with amazing bird song throughout the day. The cottages are well appointed for short stays. We had all the kitchen gear we needed to prepare meals, a decent sized fridge & full size oven and microwave. The bedrooms worked for us. The internet works well. Would recommend to anyone looking for accommodation in the North Shore area, handy to Albany and all the shopping and easy to explore the region from here. Thanks to Kirsty...
