So I stayed here on business trip to Auckland it's nice but couldn't help being disappointed, my reasons for this are quite simple it's advertised as 5 star accomodation at a three star price, let me elaborate a bit yea it has a 9 hole golf course on average grounds for a start ,a cafe bistro, bar and a church and beautiful gardens with wild skinks it is nice but could be much more. The rooms are very small but offer smart TVs and air con with almost no cooking facility's a microwave and a jug for a cuppa, that's ok right as there is a cafe, bar, bistro on site so we will just eat there! Sorry to bear bad news it is never open and if you would like food on request oh the kitchen is closed front of desk service is terrible there is no one ever there even during business hours. Room servicing average for two consecutive days I had no clean towels and room not actually serviced as such supposed to collect your bathroom laundry and clear you rubbish bin not daily I will add I do understand as I was a long stay but the servicing still missed the boat. However overall facility's are quite good but service is lacking definitely not 5 star in my opinion as I would expect more if actually...

So much potential here!
Played the 9 hole course. Good for a hack hit out but not for a serious golfer. From the 9 holes 2 or 3 were passable in terms of layout. Postage stamp greens in terrible condition. If the greens were in better knick it would’ve made it more playable. On multiple holes the fairway was extremely narrow. Literally dead straight with no height as branches were often low hanging. Inconsistent grass length fairway to fairway. The fact it wasn’t super dry and the artificial tee boxes were the positives. Cheap to play.
Also, advertising it as a golf resort would be a huge disappointment if somebody happened to book solely for the golf aspect.
To improve, bigger greens with some serious maintenance would be an idea. Regularly mowed fairways would help. Potentially artificial greens if ground maintenance is a concern. Hole layout could be improved upon, less congestion and a couple of bunkers would be fun.
Would love to see it improve. Will be...
Read moreRegularly have staff meetings here in the conference rooms. Nice peaceful setting in the Dairy Flats countryside, on a golf course, yet really accessible as only a minute from SH1 Silverdale. The buildings are cosy, yet modern with large rustic beams and posts and nice courtyards and trellises outside. A log burner will provide good warm in winter. The food (chef) is amazing with fantastic use of everyday ingredients to produce some exotic tasting dishes with gluten free and other dietary options catered for. Multiple dining areas would cater for indoor and outdoor dining for small or large groups with very nicely presented tables. There appears to be a well stocked bar, too. There is private accommodation in the various wings of the complex looking out over the landscaped golf course which is obviously suitable for intimate weddings and overnight group bookings. The staff are friendly and professional, parking is adequate (unsealed) and the atmosphere restful with good shade and lots of interest with all the...
