This place is indeed magical. It's a big campground, a bit uneven so to find a good spot is maybe better to arrive not at the last moment. It was crowded so it's up to your luck who will be your neighbor. We didn't have any problems. The beach is beautiful and you have so many walks and wildlife. Trash bins provided at the entrance, drinking water and clean longdrops. If you need a superior toilet experience, there is a huge modern toilet block at the beginning of the walks not far from the campsite. Big thank to a friendly lady host!

Well maintained campgrounds and stunning location. Longdrop toilets and handwashing sinks with liquid soap provided. Drinking water available and a rubbish & recycling station as well as worm farm for food waste

Plenty of room, limited numbers in at one time, close to child friendly safe beach, great access to bush walks & native birds, basic washroom facilities, the best way to camp if that's the way you like it

Lovely camping ground, very close to the beach (literally a few minutes walk). Facilities are pretty good, considering they're just modern long drops. Close to a few nature walks, with chances of encountering Kiwi, if you do the walks very quietly (a red light headlamp is real helpful for this). One potential 'down-side' is there are a TON of Pukeko's and Seagull's, but we thought they were quite fun to watch, just make sure to seal your rubbish bin and don't leave food unattended or...

Awesome campsite near the beach and sanctuary. Toilets very clean (maybe moreso because of covid?) and water also provided. Otherwise just a basic campsite away from the main day traffic. Not too many native birds at the camp if I exclude the pesky Pukeko that like to pull the caps off your solar showers for a drink! Hilly is places, but it's quite spacious....
