Our stay at Adrift Beach Villas in Golden Bay was simply unforgettable – an accommodation that impresses in every possible way. The stunning villas are located right on the beach, no more than 30 meters from the sea, offering luxury, style, and complete tranquility. The design is modern, harmonious, and created with great attention to detail. The large windows facing the ocean can be fully opened, allowing the indoor and outdoor spaces to merge – it truly feels as if you’re living right by the sea.

On the spacious private terrace with comfortable loungers, we could listen to the waves, feel the breeze, and completely unwind – a place of pure relaxation. There’s nothing but peace: no noise, no crowds – just the ocean, the sky, and serenity. Emily and John are wonderful hosts – warm, attentive, and always eager to make their guests’ stay perfect. Canoes and SUP boards are available for use, and even simply watching the tides was an absolute joy.

The family owned and operated business is the exact description of heaven on earth. Only five self contained villas spread over one hectare of landscaped native gardens by the sea. You can see and feel the owners’ professioanalism, attention for details as well as their kind nature and approach in everything. You can find here everything you need: a fully equipped kitchen, a professional BBQ, folding deck chairs to be taken to the beach along with the beach towels, kayaks and stand-up paddleboards, a fresh water outdoor shower and even a tiny herb garden for your dinner salad. The villas are immaculate and well maintained, all have spa baths and luxury amenities. But the real luxury is not that. The New Zealand style luxury is the serene, peaceful and private space you get enjoy in the middle of nature. If we could have just spent our entire honeymoon here, we would have. Imagine staying in the guest house of your warmest family member. And these family members want you to enjoy every second of the stay. The villas are beautiful and comfy. We had neighbors in other villas but were unaware of them. The view from every window was breathtaking. Breakfast is provided daily through the means of sorcery. When we returned to our abode we would find a basket full of fresh provisions. It wasn't there when we left so, you know, sorcery. The family who owns and operates the Adrift are ever present and so knowledgeable of the area that they are a necessary resource for where to eat and what to do. Oh!
