We had the most amazing week at Ahuriri Lodge in January 17. There were 6 of us and we all did what we loved. The girls had their horses and enjoyed the wonderful rides and open spaces. The walks and tramps were fantastic. The boy hunted and fished. All enjoying coming together at night for a stories of the day. Accommodation and the facilities were perfect. Beds comfortable and the kitchen well equipped. We could not have asked for anything more. We will be back, it was amazing to get away and have no cell phone coverage and just enjoy what the valley and the open spaces have to offer. What a special place.    Read moreOn the 16th December 2014 our booking was confirmed - Easter 2015 for 8 adults and 1 child, our deposit paid and flights booked from Australia. On the 23rd February 2015. We received an email from Carl & Claire advising that due to circumstances beyond their control they had to cancel our booking. Shortly after they cancelled our booking another quickly appeared for a longer period. This in my view was unprofessional, and a very disappointing case of bad management.    Read moreOh my goodness the Ahuriri River Lodge truly is "close to perfect". our family had a wonderful stay here, enjoying incredible views, fishing, hiking, and peace and quiet. We were very comfortable and cozy despite the April snow. The website does not do justice to the amazing location or the wonderful lodge, with its large gourmet kitchen, and plenty of room to relax even with a large group.
