Beachside Sunnyvale Motel — Hotel in South Island

We only stayed one night. The kitchen area is a bit outdated, the cupboards are fairly old but perfectly serviceable with a range of kitchenware. A proper size electric cooker and fridge. The owners have obviously been updating areas and the bathroom is modern and nice and the small lounge area is comfortable with patio doors to a small seating area out the back. There is a table and chairs out the front of the chalet to sit out as well as a decked area with table and chairs where you get a view of the harbour. There is a laundry room with a washer and a dryer that you can use for a small cost. The laundry room could do with a tidy up to make it look a little nicer.||Not luxury but little welcoming touches. Homemade biscuits were left for us in the room and milk in the fridge. Colin the owner came out to great us when we arrived. He was extremely helpful and friendly. Waiwaka bay is gorgeous and an easy drive to picton, the motel had 6 units my friend and I stayed in 6, parking was good not overlooked, the only sound was the birds so relaxing, the unit was very clean, the beds comfortable, good shower, cosy separate kitchen with table and chairs and amenities good size lounge, the owners had put a great deal of thought into making it an enjoyable stay and it was, we will visit again, had a nice meal at the jolly roger on the marina and the Thai restaurant just off the high street.
