Diamond Lake DOC campground — Hotel in South Island

Beautiful DOC site. $10pp. Long drop toilets need old spider webs cleaned- Looks very un-cared for. Lots of parking space and some grassy areas for tents. Lake view is magic (shame about the pylons in the way). Only 3 campervans there when we visited in March ‘23. You do need to drive down a long gravel road to get here- it’s gave our old Toyota hiace a nasty ride due to the vibrations of the small bumps! Drive slow (20/30kph) and...

A lovely quiet camping spot for the night, a short walk along the lake side is very relaxing. There is not much to do but there is a forest walk not far up the road. Toilets are very basic drop toilets & no running water. Very limited camping spots so...

It's a good drive down the dirt road. A good camping spot that has a toilet. The veiw is pretty great. You can drive here with a car when it's not wet. However your won't get any further than this camp site...
