Exceptional hosts, excellent value for money.
I would highly recommend this motel to anyone wanting a quiet, friendly rural motel. The scenery and location is stunning, only six minute drive from one of the most beautiful wild beaches I have ever seen in NZ. The thing that really made made my stay special though, were the hosts, they went above and beyond to make sure I felt really welcome and all my needs were catered for. The room itself was so clean, tidy, warm and light with a lovely view. The gardens were immaculate with lovely picnic tables and seats to sit on and enjoy the lovely weather. Read moreWe stopped here for one night on the way back to chch, read some nice reviews, and thought it would be a nice stop of before home. I'm really glad we did. The owner was so nice, really friendly, and chatty, happy to go the extra mile for guests. The rooms were really clean and tidy, we had the studio which was nicely sized and well equipped. The kitchen next door also had everything you'd need to cook. The grounds were really clean and tidy, well looked after. The bathrooms were a little dated but again, super clean and tidy, which didn't ruin the experience. Hot water system Cleary upgraded, which meant for a really nice long hot shower at mains pressure. Definitely stop off here again when...

It's an excellent base for so many attractions this part of South Marlborough offers: Ward Beach, Marfells beach (for a day hike to magnificent Cape Campbell lighthouse), Yealands Estate for a wine tour through this spectacular coastal winery (take your bike and a picnic, grab a bottle of wine and sit among the vines listening to the classical music played to the grapes !), or lunch in Seddon, or use the motels as a place from where to take a day trip to Kaikoura. The motels are super clean and comfortable, and if you don't want to cook there's a cafe across...
