John and the lovely Barbara we there in our time of need. We had such an awful stay in Dunedin we looked for something better and by golly didn't we just! This fantastic Bed and Breakfast was an oasis of calm, peace and happiness. The welcome we received was second to none and the glass of wine on the terrace was just the tonic we needed. The building is modern with all up to date amenities, something which cannot be said of a very large part of NZ motels, sadly. Super modern room with fantastic bed, magic shower and spotlessly clean. Great TV offering including Netflix, another facility in excess of the norm, 5 channels, if you are lucky, in most motels etc. They have a guest kitchen where we cooked a meal, all the facilities you would have at home. The terrace outside our room overlooked alpaca and sheep and a lake. Fields and trees abound. I could wax lyrical about this place forever, it deserves a 6. The sleep quality was excellent, quiet with no sounds from other rooms. Breakfast in the main house with John in attendance, what a great guy, good fun, interesting to talk to. Breakfast was super, cereals, choice of breads, home made jams and marmalades, fruit, yoghurt and muesli, ample for anyone, but you can have cooked for a very small extra charge if required.|We met some lovely people and had a good laugh,it felt very much like home.|I would thoroughly recommend you stay here, and John and Barbara had been to Torquay in England where I was born, what more can you...

Hey there! Just wanted to share the fantastic experience my partner and I had at the hotel during our Christmas trip. It's a gem, only 15-20 minutes away from Dunedin CBD, and we loved it!

First off, the place is simply beautiful and well-maintained. The location is great, offering a unique microclimate that adds to the charm. The hosts are super-friendly – we had a delightful chat with John, a lovely man who made our stay even more enjoyable.

One of the highlights for us was the fact that the place is dog-friendly. Our little griffon had a blast! Lamas, ducks, and nature all around – it's like a little haven for both humans and pets.

The room was clean and modern, and we appreciated the outside area where we could cook our meals on the BBQ, relax, and mingle with other guests. It created a cosy atmosphere that we truly enjoyed.

Overall, we were very satisfied with our stay. One thing to note, if you're booking through a third-party website, make sure to check with the host about pet-friendly rooms. Not all of them are suitable for pets. Thanks to the super hosts for making our Christmas trip memorable! We'll be back. (I tried to attach video file, but it doesn't accept it saying: 'the file is not supported' no matter what file format I was trying to add:...

Didn’t realize when I initially booked this beautiful location that it is a farm complete with sheep and alpacas! The owner is named John and he is an absolute gentleman. Loved the guest kitchen area that includes stovetop burners, an air fryer and some other items. John also kindly allowed us to eat our meals in the downstairs dining room. Guests are invited to feed the animals daily at 9:00am. This activity is completely free of charge. It was so much fun! John had to slowly coax the alpacas down the hill, but his diligent efforts eventually paid off. His family members provided many fantastic suggestions for local activities. Our favorites were the Toitu Otago settlers museum and Dunedin Railway Station. Thank you...

Such an amazing place to stay. John was a fantastic host who went out of his way to make us feel welcome and relaxed. Nothing was too much trouble for him. He was an amazing host. The property is stunning, well looked after and beautifully presented. The room we stayed in was warm and inviting. The bed was comfortable and a good selection of pillows were available. It was one of the best places we have stayed in and completely recommend staying here. Definitely 10 out of 10. Thank you for your hospitality John. We will definitely see you next time we visit Dunedin.

Gorgeous accommodation with exceptional service! Our late check in was made very easy and stress free. The place was easy to find and is about half way between the airport and Dunedin in a beautiful spot. The room itself was very nice and cozy, exactly what a jetlagged couple needs. It's a great value for the money and we loved it so much that we stayed an extra night. They've got alpacas and sheep pretty much in front of the house where you could feed them in the morning. Our host was a lovely lady and very welcoming :)
