Kelceys Bush Holiday Park — Hotel in South Island

We had a lovely single night stay at the Holiday Park. We were upgraded from the flat we had booked to the main house, which had a wood fireplace, multiple bedrooms, and a fully equipped kitchen. The park was well signed from the main road, and whilst it was a little out of the way it was easily accessible with a car. The lovely owners were able to recommend a restaurant for dinner, and were very willing to assist us with directions for our drive the next day. If you're looking for an old style camping grounds in a beautiful, peaceful setting, then this is a great spot, at an outstanding price. Our self contained park backed onto bird-laden bush, and came with both power and water connections. A few minutes from Waimate and close to bush walks, it was a great stop on a road trip south. This place was really great. It was our first night in the van in NZ. We had the whole site to ourselves. It's a little tired at the moment, however it's very family friendly. The price is fair and the kitchen/laundry is great too. They're situated next to a deer farm, so be prepared to hear the big bucks calling out....
