Lewis Pass Motels — Hotel in South Island

This is a perfect place to stay along the Lewis Pass. The rooms are clean and tidy. There is a kitchen area so you can prepare your own meals. There is also a laundry area. The location is very accessible to DOC walks and not too far from Reefton. The rooms are set well back on the road so there is no traffic noise.|We stayed for two nights but would have enjoyed longer. A gem of a find but pay attention to the owners' advice on bringing food due to the remoteness of the motel. It is a 30- minute drive to Reefton which we were happy to do and had a lovely meal in Dawsons Hotel. The motel is set in absolutely beautiful countryside and the outlook from the units is pure perfection. The facilities provided are first rate with a full-size cooker and everything was pristine. Clean and fresh, either very well maintained or newly renovated. Well layout unit with great facilities, has stove and oven, fridge that works well, modern bathroom with shower box (keeps the bathroom dry, a big plus), very comfy beds, very quiet, great views. Great internet connection and Smart TV. Close to nice walks. Quick and easy check-in by friendly owner. Would have stayed longer if there was vacancy (stayed only one night just before Christmas) but will surely stay again (for longer if we could) if we do come this way again....
