Awesome country pub in the small town of Little Wanganui. We stopped in for the night and enjoyed a few drinks and some great pub food. The whitebait was excellent as was the steak my wife had. The staff were really nice and nothing was too much trouble. Some decent old blues played on the open mic night too. Was a very cool little stop on our way up to Karamea.

Good old-fashioned West Coast service with great accommodation and food. Great whitebait patties and salad for keto people and the Baby Doll pinot noir was superb! We stayed in a 2 brm cabin which was very well appointed and reasonably priced. Highly recommended 😊👍

Had 6 days at this wonderful place with family. Very well set out in a tropical setting. Bell birds everywhere and right next to the river. At the time white bait being caught large quantities. And we also managed to catch 3 large Snapper from the beach.

This place was a great location to visit nearby Karamea and we loved the quietness of Little Wanganui. The beds were comfortable and the 2 bedroom cabin was cosy and colourful with its red kitchen, yellow duvet in the master bedroom and blue duvets in the bunk room. The shower had good pressure and the kitchen was modern and well equipped. There was a heater in the lounge and kitchen area which warmed up the cabin nicely. While the cabin was small it was a decent size for two adults, and one teen and one child. The outlook over the neighbour's farm was lovely.||The cabin had good potential if a solution can be found to the black mold in the bathroom. Also there were a few dead bugs in the room and dead bugs on the bedding of one of the beds which one of the staff kindly vacuumed up for us. The property gardens also have potential if more care was put into them, then this would make the property...

The new owners are really friendly and helpful. They made us feel like old friends and really welcomed us. Accommodation is good, very clean and comfortable. Food is good and reasonably priced. Also when Mother had a fall, something she does reasonably often now, they gave us a first aid kit even though all we needed at that time was a bandage. Thank you. Greatly appreciated Update 7 July 2023. Still a great place. We have stayed for first week of school holidays. Grand children are 5 7 11 and 14. All are enjoying themselves. Also great internet, which is always...

Took 2 Canadian friends to lunch as our previous meal here, when under previous management, was excellent. Unfortunately this experience was disastrous. Ordered 2 Irish Lamb Pie meals, 1 Chilli Pork Pie meal and 1 Fish and Chips. All 3 pies were reheated to the point of being inedible. My Chilli pork had some recognizable meat burnt to the pastry, the lamb stew pies appeared to be meatless, just lots of pumpkin and filler. The fish and chip meal was at least edible.|Very disappointed and embarrassed to have taken guests there. Will certainly not be repeating...
