hubby and I love this place for many reasons. we live 3 hours away and it breaks our journey at times when travelling north. Our big PLUS is that we allowed to take our 2 dogs. a golden retriever and a wee border terrier. we take their own beds and they are allowed to sleep in the lounge part.. The Motel has a wonderful doggy park just behind motels that is a large area with trees and totally fenced off.so they can have a really good play out there,, The motel is in a lovely quiet country spot which is really pretty .. Has all cooking amentities in it - so can prepare food.. some are a bit older - but part of the charm - its not flash and modern.... but it is very very clean and comfortable. shower was great!!!! and bed and sheets were really nice..this time went overnight to take a horse to the vet up there,,, definetly always stay here and our hosts are lovely and very accommodating.!!!!totally recommend...
Read moreWe stayed in unit #4 for 3 nights. The owners/managers were very nice and welcoming, allowing us to check in early. They also promptly addressed a couple of minor problems we had with our unit, which was very clean.||The unit was adequate for our needs, although it was definitely cozy in the living/dining/kitchenette room. The bed was comfortable and we slept well during the night; however, there is some road noise in the morning.||The Longbourne Lodge is located quite some distance outside of central Dunedin. It’s in a nice countryside setting and it is very quiet at night. The downside is that going into Dunedin for a nice dinner is a bit of a drive,...
Read moreThe staff are great. But hated the rule where you had to turn on the heat pump every 45mins where it'll turn off by itself. Although I requested the remote since it's pre-set on temperature with no remote to control, the fact to turn on every 45mins is a pain. Place is outdated but okay. Location is good.
Update: You told me it will turn off every 45mins and there is no override (so, please stop lying). If I have to come and ask you for everything in there, that clearly means you haven't done your job correctly. I have done extensive travel around NZ and many countries around Europe but this 45mins auto-off rule is a joke. Either have a room with heat pump as an option so customers who pay extra can use freely and not having to come and ask staff can...
