This small hotel came up @ just the right time for me as I was getting tired & wanted a place without stairs, stairs being a arthritis hassle. Greeted @ the door as though I was his long lost friend a very friendly 🐕dog made me welcome & the rest was just a breeze. $70 got me a comfortable room & shared shower facilities. The latter was a huge bathroom with wc & a 3 way shower including needle, usual & rain, I went for the usual one. I dozed for an hour then ventured into the bar for a light meal & talk about generous helpings 😋 - well they were & not only my salad. Will I be back here again well the answer is yes & I'll phone ahead because this really is a gem of a place. It's got everything but I was just too tired to really enjoy myself. TV in the bedrooms plus a small hand basin. Breakfast this morning for me consisted of toast & raspberry jam. Now I'm in Oamaru. Oh and whatever else you do, do not move through the building in a straight path. Move from the front door all the way around in a circle of the bar if you want to reach a table opposite the door 😆 you have been warned
Other than that it was a place to...

Not only were they very efficient at their job, but they read the room and had the banter that played off our group well. Nice food too, everyone was very complimentary about the meals on the trip home and no-one left hungry. Of the first time visitors, I'm sure you'll pick up repeat business from most of them... Only 30kms ( about 20 mins ) south of Timaru, right on State Highway 1, it's almost perfectly 1/2 way between Dunedin and Christchurch so perfect for a pit stop and bite to eat. Meals for all tastes and...
