Mata-Au Lodge Beaumont Accommodation — Hotel in South Island

Superb stay! Mata-Au Lodge is a large, great quality house with lots of bedrooms and bathrooms, and a large central lounge and kitchen. 10 of us stayed there for 2 nights (4 adults, 6 kids) and we loved everything about it.

Mark and Jude were great hosts, very responsive before and during our stay, and super helpful. Mark also drove us to and from the Clutha Gold and Roxburgh Gorge Trails.

The Lodge is sheer luxury. Fantastic position by the river. Incredible lounge and kitchen areas. The owner could not have been more obliging. The four double bedrooms with ensuite bathrooms are 5 star. However if you intend to book make sure you don't get the room with two single beds. It has no bathroom. Along the passage is a toilet with a basin but no mirror. Those in our group who had the room had to ask a couple in one of the other bedrooms if they could use their bathroom. Large luxury lodge with heaps of bedrooms. Situated overlooking the river the lodge had everything you need. We were stopped overnight on a bike trip, only ones there and Mark the host called in to check we were all OK.
