Mitchella Farm — Hotel in South Island

I was driver taking a few Hong Kong visitors around a small part of the South Island. ||The attraction of the Mitchell’s Farm was that it was actually a farm…with a beautiful view of the snowy mountains in the distance. The hosts left us alone and we were free to wander around part of the farm and met the goat and the very friendly dog.||Our area was the upstairs of the main house. Virtually everything was provided although there was only one television servicing the whole floor….but that was no bother as we were not there to watch tv.||As we were a group of five, we had three bedrooms which suited us for three nights.||It was easy to visit Wanaka as it was just over a 15 minute drive. No snow when we arrived but it hit us on the day we left.||We did a day trip to Queenstown with enough things to do there to keep the others happy.||The accomodation was very warm and the beds were very comfortable.||The showers were excellent and we had plenty of towels....

We had a wonderful, restful 4-day stay at this lovely property close to Wanaka. The property is beautifully situated facing mountain views, among mature trees, and with plenty of space to walk and enjoy nature. We stayed in the spacious apartment above the main house. It was clean, neat, and uncluttered with comfortable beds and room to relax. The hosts were very accommodating and gave us recommendations for delicious restaurants and hiking trails that matched our abilities and interests. Stunning place with amazing view, history and atmosphere. We stayed in small but cozy and well equipped cabin made from second-hand materials. We immediately felt like home thanks to our lovely host and cute dog Beau.
