Pam saved the day. What a legend. We arrived in Okiwi Bay to stay at a bach (not hte Holiday Park), only to find we had totally forgotten to bring linen and towels. Four adults & 5 kids. The store was closed, but we hesitantly phoned the emergency number. Pam was so kind and generous, lending us everything we needed - including tee-towels for our bach. Coming from the UK, we had heard of Kiwi spirit - this is not only the best example, Pam was so lovely, understanding and generous of spirit. We spent the next week toasting her brilliance, she turned a disaster into a triumph. She was a highlight of our holiday. l am writing this almost a month later, now back in cold UK as i keep on thinking back to Pam's kiwi...
Read moreThree friends and I stayed here while competing in the Kiwi Brevette 2017. We had booked in advance and found Ian very helpful in assisting with our planning. On the day we were due to arrive he rang and asked how we were going and followed us on Maprogress. We were late, arriving in the dark and rain. He and Pam opened the shop well after closing time and made us very welcome. Our room was ideal for our needs and the communal kitchen and ablutions were clean and well equipped.
