I am so happy I found this quaint little B&B at Temuka. ||We were surprised at how clean it was, despite being situated in a farm. Shoes are not allowed in the house, and the bedroom was spick and span. ||Pam the mistress of the house was ill, so her husband, Oli, single handedly hosted us. He had gotten some of their eggs fertilized a few days prior to our arrival so that little chicks would hatch in time for our stay. Our kids were so thrilled to chase the chooks around the garden, and even got to hold the two day old chick. Oli also gave us bread to feed the goats, and the kids got to bottle feed the calves. The kids’ favorite was Molly the border collie. She was so affectionate and kept pawing us and requesting for tummy rubs.||Oli had prepared fruits and cookies for our tea upon arrival, and a fully cooked breakfast with a wide spread the next morning. It consisted of toast, poached eggs, yogurt, cereal, sausages, bacon, grilled tomatoes, blanched asparagus, coffee/tea, freshly squeezed juice. What a treat!||Whilst we enjoyed the stay, we also enjoyed conversing with Oli. He’s an earnest man who is obliging and honest. When I asked why he didn’t register his b&b with the big booking platforms, he said he did not want a case of double bookings - it would be disastrous for guests. Also, he doesn’t take deposits upfront and you pay 100% only during your stay. This goes to show what incredibly trusting and wholesome people Oli and Pam are. We were sad to leave this lovely farm and hope to...
Read moreWe stayed with Pam & Cam for three delightful nights. Their warm hospitality, splendid farm and comfy accommodations were a highlight of our New Zealand trip. Cam prepared a delicious variety of breakfast offerings: perfect poached eggs with fresh asparagus, grilled tomato, smoked salmon, waffles, yummy homemade jams! We were also fortunate enough to have dinner with them several evenings! Oh my ! Cam is truly an exceptional chef: house smoked trout, fresh fish battered and fried perfectly and much more! Pam ensured anything we wanted was available; loved the fresh flowers in our suite! We very much enjoyed all of the domestic and farm animals: Mollie, Tabitha, and Little( a very sweet kitty), goats, sheep, cows, calves, turkey! The Farm is centrally located for easy day trips to the surrounding area; Geraldine, Fairlie, Lake Tekapo (Church of the Good Shepard), Mt John (stunning views from the summit & a very nice restaurant), Pukaki (wonderful views...
Read moreOllie and Pam were incredibly welcoming and genuinely went above and beyond to make our experience memorable. Pam first welcomed us with a cup of tea and some of her homemade cornflake biscuits. They also took the time to contact their neighbors, allowing us the unique experience of feeding their horse, pony and playing with friendly dogs nearby — a real treat! They also took the time to share more about their lovely farm and life experience with us and let us feed and interact with their adorable sheeps and chickens.
The space itself was cozy, clean, and thoughtfully equipped with everything we needed. Their warm hospitality and attention to detail made us feel right at home. Even breakfast was a huge spread with their homemade jams.
If you’re looking for a relaxing countryside getaway with truly caring hosts, I can’t recommend this place enough. Thank you for an unforgettable stay! Sad that we only had time to stay...
