Quickenberry Lodge — Hotel in South Island

We were given a voucher for Christmas.. Given a tour of the property on arrival, including a chance to change our booked room. We stuck with the one we had already booked, the blue room. The room had a view of farm paddocks. Nice to get away from the city life.||||Took the opportunity to walk around the area of Terrace Downs. Christine gave some useful guidance on a path which gave a view of the gorge.||||Pre-dinner drinks served outside on a warm evening, and expectations met with Robbie's cooking. Quickenberry and master chef Robbie provide an unforgettable culinary experience in a most beautiful setting, near the mountains, but so close to Christchurch. Both Christine and Robbie are wonderful hosts. I'm buying a bunch of gift vouchers for family and friends as I really can't think of a better or more memorable gift to give. A great experience. Christine and Robert were super welcoming and we had plenty to talk about while I was there. ||The bedroom was classy, with lovely linen, lots of space, rural view, bath in the ensuite. Guests can also use a library and a large lounge with a fireplace. ||I was the only guest and sat with them for dinner, though they were busy cooking and serving.
