From the time we arrived to the time we left, we found the team friendly, helpful, and knowledgeable at Rakaia River Holiday Park. They take pride in their park. It is extremely clean and has everything you need. We love the pool area with beanbags , the peddle karts are always a hit, the jumping pillow and playground are popular, their is lots of room to kick a ball round without it hitting tents, the fairy door walk is cute and well thought out, the recreation room was a hit with our teens with a pool table and a soccer table, the pizza oven is easy to use, along with the BBQs available to use under a covered pergola, mini golf on site is fun, the dog park is great to give your dog a good run around off their leash. The kitchen area has everything you need including fridges for your food (named) and freezer space. The dining area has plenty of tables and chairs plus a highchair. |Rakaia is lovely to stay at, and their is lots for the kids to do. You feel safe as there is a security barrier at the entrance, and their are always staff floating round. |We highly recommend...

Is a very good family friendly campground ! Rubbish bins and toilets located everywhere so is convenient :), showers are hot and great pressure ! Dining kitchen etc are all clean ! Has pizza oven, free mini golf and pool ! Big jumping pillow and a fort on playground for kids, The wee 6 and under playground was abit disappointing though and I really reccomend the lounge room being updated, the pool table felt, is ruined making it very hard to play and their is no white ball and still have to pay to play it same as you would in a pub with a proper table, there is also no remote for the t.v. but there is lovely ladies that give free things away to kids :) i was also abit confused but we were charged the same for unpowered site as it cost for a powered site which was new to me and i do have to warn this is not a quiet campground, the noise from the bridge is very loud and trains going past during night too if you are wanting a soundless sleep I wouldn't reccomend but other than that it is a cool campground...

First time visiting the holiday park yesterday. Had a great time, friendly staff and so much to do! Will be back with the kids next time 🙂

Update : second trip to rakaia holiday park over New years 2022/2023 and we booked the fisherman's cottage. Absolutely cool wee place with plenty of room for the dogs and kids and close to all the awesome amenities. Facilities in this camp are top notch, clean and have everything you need. Plenty of Rubbish and recycling bins, ashtrays and seating included. Staff are super friendly and accommodating to campers needs, they are always busy keeping the camp to a high standard. Bbq area is tidy and well set out, pizza oven is great and has all the utensils available to make great pizzas! The best thing about this place is the people, fellow campers new and regular were so friendly and respectful making this a home away from home over our holiday. Can't wait to come back next summer 🙂 Keep up the great work, 5 stars...

Gorgeous Fairy 🧚‍♀️ Forrest is the crowning beauty of the camp, an amazing playground, mini golf ⛳️, well equipped family room with Pool table foosball table, a small take & replace library. Excellent ammenities block and bbq area, a beautiful swimming pool (summer) Wifi access was the only downside. Little cabins very basic but clean comfortable and well equipped with TV, sink, small fridge, jug & toaster a heater. Nice little deck with a small table and chairs. Security at entrance with coded barrier arm is a real comfort with state highway so close, also take extreme caution when entering and exiting campground. Well worth the $45 single person night. Even DR WHO frequently stays😂!!!!

This has now become the top 1 of our most favourite spot to camp. The new owners are amazing. They were so great right from the booking to entertaining us throughout our stay. We loved camping in the forest where you hear the sound of the birds throughout the day. The kids enjoyed the acitivities the camp had to offer - nature, the river, the pool, buggy rides, mini golf, the amazing playground, the water slide and really enjoyed their time meeting new friends. Clean facilities. We love this spot and highly recommend it - plus we can take our dog ❤️ thanks team for a truly amazing time! We will definitely be back and will be recommending you to all our friends!

We booked a 2 night stay at the powered site and was welcomed by the loveliest staffs, who was so sweet to shift us closer to the amenities area since our campervan was not self contained. The cleanliness is definitely a shoutout as well as the heated showers / taps. They even stocked up some cooking ingredients in the fridge for sharing. The holiday park also connects to a short 30 mins hike towards Rakaia River.
