It’s a wee way past White’s Bay (which is probably a better spot for campers) and a crawl up a winding gravel road with a steep drop cautioning drivers to take it slow. It’s not a great ride for the motion sick passengers because the constant curves along with the slippery dirt and rock. It’s a lovely quiet beach where you can bring your well trained pups to enjoy some beach time (DOC permit). There’s usually a few caravaners in the summertime but it’s not overly busy. The water is frigid at best and the beach is littered with nori but I don’t mind it. I’m not much of a swimmer and being a local, I don’t use the camp facilities but the beach is nice.

Absolutely incredible. Not difficult to get to although you may want to drop into a lower gear with the hills to save your brakes. Amazing campsite with lots of space, toilet, and spectacular view for sunrise! The sound of the waves at night make this spot so peaceful. And all for the low price of FREE! Couldn’t ask for more.

Great wee camping spot. The gravel road from Blenheim has some bad corrugations but still drivable just slow going. Long drop toilet. The area felt quite sheltered from the wind. Beach is stoney at the southern end but sandy at the northern end.

Amazing little hidden gem. Dirt road in wasn't as bad as I expected but it was on the weekend so no logging trucks. Designated campsite is fairly small and filled up fast, even out of season. Seemed to be additional self contained spots further along the bay. Long drop toilet is fairly well...
