This is accommodation well done! Of all the accommodation we have stayed in throughout our NZ journey, Totara is our favourite.

When we first arrived, we were greeted by our friendly hostess Sue who gave us a gourmet glass bottle of milk and shown our container home for the night.

Our pod was fronting the beach, and what I mean is absolute beach fronting. Not glimpses of the beach, it is not around the corner. It fills the entire floor to ceiling glass wall of our pod! It was fantastic to fall asleep listening to the waves and wake up to a view second to none.

We can see and appreciate that much thought has gone into the design of the place. While the container homes are 75% encased in glass for us to soak in the views, the orientation and planting around means that we maintain a certain level of privacy, and blinds are also in place should we need them. Louvre shutters are installed to maximise fresh air, which is a fine design touch / element

Within, we were provided all the amenities we could have think of. We particularly liked the little touches that Sue and Andy have thought of including, such as the Nespresso pod style coffee machine, assortment of tera and hot chocolate, luxury toilet amenities, heater, toaster, kettle, microwave. All helped by the fact that these are all only 2 months new when we are here as we were told.

Thanks Sue and Andy, we had...

Just stayed here after Labour Day weekend and we absolutely loved it. We stayed in one of the large dome tents with some torrential rain and awful weather but inside the dome was heavenly. It was surprisingly quiet considering the heavy rain. Walking inside the dome initially I was blown away. The triangle windows with the forest view and the interior design and layout was absolutely stunning. We were really glad we decided to go to the accommodation early ish so we were able to spend more time there. The whole ambience was lovely. The layout was well thought out and tasteful design felt like a private dreamy romantic getaway. The kitchen was well supplied and everything was very modern, with floor lighting to bathroom mirror lighting to usb-c wall charging ports. We're stoked we chose this site to stay in, only sad part was we were only there one night! Thanks Sue & Andy. We appreciate the thoughtfulness and effort placed into the design of the dome and the vibe...

It was raining on arrival and rained most of the night. Our parking space for sleeper was right next to the ocean. The main facilities block is located in the centre, which is great for wherever you are located o the park. The facilities are superb, clean and very modern. We cooked in the cooking area. There are 2 cooki g areas each with a larger fridge where you can store any food, an electric oven, microwave, toaster, kettle and breville machine. There are plenty of pans, cooking utensils and plates, bowls etc. There are 4 tables to sit at inside this area. There is a superb outdoor bbq area that you can use. Next door there is a cosy TV, chill area with plenty of power outlets to charge up devices. There are 4 toilets and 2 showers. Showers have shampoo, conditioner and body wash for use. There is also a hairdryer. Music is playing in this area. The price was very reasonable for facilities we used and location of our...

One of the best holiday parks I have ever stayed in across New Zealand, and I have stayed in lots of them across the North & South islands. The township seems great and there are so many adventures to do nearby, but we were staying in the “Sunset Cabin” and if you stay there, you may never want to leave! Ocean view and sleep with the waves in the background. Amazing night sky and you can have a bonfire on the beach with the ample driftwood. The tent and caravan sites are lined with flax and look really private, which is a commodity at most campgrounds. Love it, love it and considering it is the West Coast, we barely encountered any sandflies at Ross Beach, compared to places we have stayed North and South of here. Oh and before I forget, the staff here are so nice and accommodating. Wish I lived closer so I could come back over and over again!

The park is really well taken care of and at a great price considering all you get: the kitchen is fully equiped, hot water, soap, shampoo, conditioner, towels, wifi (that works great considering the location), a great lounge that worked out great for me to edit my photos when it rained. They have washing machines, a hot tub, a pizza overn, a nice area where you can make a fire (they sell marsh mallows 🤩) and most importantly the staff is really friendly, very helpful and always available, not like all these self check in camp sites. For practicaly the same price we have had cold showers and a hole in the ground to pee 😂 so 100% worth staying here.
