Imagine waking up every day in a farm setting and getting a chance to feed alpacas every morning. That's what you get staying here.||Kit and Sheryl are wonderful people and try not to intrude into your daily plans. Kit is 72! but fit as a fiddle. Sheryl is the quiet one that makes sure the towels and bedlinen are clean and ample. Just ask them, they will always help.||Wifi in the cottage is 24x7. You can log in your Prime/Netflix if you have a subscription.||Please rent a car when in Christchurch New Zealand, you need it to get around as all places of known interest and places like Arthur's Pass, Lake Tekapo, Akaroa and Castle hill are typically 3-4 hrs drive return. You need it to get that occasional coffee or meal fix.||The cottages are equipped with a kitchen so you can cook and they have dishwashers to do the washing later. Microwave and toaster are available. ||Winter period was kind of cold for us but the heaters will help bring the temp up.||The alpaca tour is a one time useful session with Kit ( but watch out for Alpha poop, little pellets and DO NOT stand behind an alpaca as they tend to kick) but this is a farm :) You get to understand the medal-winning alpacas that Kit has.||The breakfast that comes with your stay is continental breakfast design, meaning bread you can toast, jam, cereal, and milk. Nothing cooked or hot. Kit and Sheryl provides eggs every morning so you can poach or fry the eggs. Just ask for some cooking oil. So if need the ham and sausages, get them from Woolworth. ||A daily visit to Woolworth at Northlands will help city folks get some "retail" fix where as usual big shopping market and there are some decent foodcourt, restaurants and bakeries. ||Our 3 nights stay was fantastic for the family, after an alpaca feeding ( you can grab the hey and make new friends with the alpacas, you head out and come back to your cottage after a stop at Woolswoth (they close at 10pm). So you can do a takeaway but we like to cook so we get fresh produce and make lovely nutritious dinners. ||2 rooms - 1 has a Queen size bed and the other 2 singles. ||The farm is not that far from the airport and central Christchurch CBD. ||For more proximity with animals, we visited Orana Wildlife, Willowbank Wildlife.||For more trekking and hills, shoot for Castlehill (the natural rocks looks short but its a climb), Arthur's pass (do the Punchbowl trek with 380+ steps to the waterfall) and Mt Cook ( the right path to the hill to see the glaciers)||For excitement - Zipline! Must DO. feel what an eagle feels snoring 100ms above the ground.||For a bit of history (Quake City to see the Citadels that fell and watch the lives of people affected)||Plenty of drive - Akaroa, Arthur's pass, Mt Cook, Lake Tekapo. Beautiful sights. They drive on the same side as us in Singapore but watch the speed limits and slippery roads during winter.||The bakeries and cafes are a great, the breads, cakes pastries are really wonderful.||Current exchange rate is 1SGD = 1.20 NZD. ||Average price for an espresso is NZ$5-6 so it's affordable for a cuppa. So far noone has beat...
