The Lookout Lodge — Hotel in South Island

Great views, but the hospitality is slacking. Owners are extremely nosey and consistently entered the rented out property, Starting at 7am and ending around 9pm. A total of 5 times. During the wedding she turned OFF lights, heaters and closed windows during a wedding. One of the owners stood in while wedding speeches were on while she was dressed in gum boots and a hoodie. Unfortunately she’ll be in the wedding photos. Extremely unprofessional. A non aggressive private conversation was had with the owner the night of the wedding asking her to give us our space. The next morning the husband/ owner was very aggressive the next morning infront of the bride and groom and kept repeating “we’re the owners. I recently had the pleasure of photographing a beautiful autumnal wedding at The Lookout Lodge, and it was such a wonderful venue to work at. The mountain views create a STUNNING backdrop for your ceremony, and there’s plenty of beautiful outdoor space for your guests to relax, mingle and enjoy the surroundings.

It’s a really photogenic location, with plenty of stunning spots for your couple portraits. If you’re planning a wedding near Wānaka and looking for a setting that feels both intimate and spectacular, I couldn’t recommend The Lookout Lodge more.

We recently had our wedding at The Lookout Lodge. The venue was absolutely amazing and Nancy made all of the planning so easy and stress free! Nancy was so quick to respond to all of our emails in the lead up to the wedding, and nothing was too much trouble. We really appreciated all the effort she went to in making sure everything was ready for our special day. All of our guests loved the venue and it was perfect for our day.
