Extremely unwelcoming and poor customer service.
My girlfriend and I arrived here by bicycle around 9am. We we’re informed by the receptionist (owner?) that if we checked in before 1pm it was an extra $12, making it $51 for an unpowered tent site. So I told her we would come back at 1, and asked if we could use the bathroom before we went. To which she replied with “No. No, no, no... you cannot.”
When I went outside my girlfriend, who has Crohn’s disease and was having a bit of an emergency had already gone into the main bathroom across from the kitchen. The lady noticed this and told me that now I had to pay the $12, “so I might as well pay the full thing and stay”. I explained my girlfriend has Crohn’s disease and was having an emergency, and clearly wasn’t aware of their bathroom policy. She continued being extremely rude, insisting we had to pay anyway. So we paid the $12 and took our business elsewhere.
Meanwhile, the bathroom which is right next to the kitchen doesn’t have running water or soap. Just hand sanitizer. It also resembles something like a prison block.
The extremely poor service, unwelcoming a rude demeanour and clear disregard for upkeep and sanitation resulted in us choosing another more suitable business to stay with. Do...
Read moreHave been coming to Alexandra holiday park for over 20 years. Now our adult children, partners and grandchildren all come each year aswell. We have always enjoyed the family friendly vibe that comes with the park. In the past three years they have a new manager (Marty) to assist the owners. With this has come loads of new activities for the children who really love Marty as he is extremely helpful and caring to all. We not only enjoy the wonderful summer weather but also enjoy seeing many of the same campers like us year after year. We will continue to come each year at Christmas and the odd weekend throughout the year for as long as we are able. I would recommend this to any family looking for a good kiwi...

Shops and cafes a few mins drive away or walk if you brave the cold .
