This is our second time staying in the Guest House at La Bodega on Waiheke Island (the first time was before Covid) and we would love to go back again. The Guest House is spacious, modern and has a wonderful deck/porch off the bedroom with a spectacular view of the Huaraki Gulf. The house has a fully equipped kitchen with quality appliances, and a wonderful bathroom with a window that can open onto the kitchen. Yes the kitchen! There is also an additional, separate half bath, something I always appreciate in a rental. The house is aesthetically decorated, including an abstract rug in the living room with a design that might be based on Japanese Enzo circles. There are good paintings and ceramics throughout.||The house is close to coastal hiking trails and we loved getting up in the morning and exploring. We did some hikes this time we hadn't done before. The landscaping is lovely, and includes vineyards. La Bodega is close to the town of Oneroa with interesting stores and restaurants, and lovely Palm and Little Palm beaches. Of course, nothing in Waiheke is very far away if you have a car.||The owners, Bret and Veronica, are very kind, interesting and solicitous, without being intrusive. In fact I would have liked to see more of them! Both stays at La Bodega on wonderful Waiheke were high points of our trips to...

The accommodation really is beautiful, both in its locations and views and in its design and decor. Our days were spent running/walking in the morning before a long lunch and then home for the late afternoon/evening, so we spent quite a bit of time in the place and were more than happy to do so.||||Kitchen is well equipped and we made several meals in it and the TV is Netflix ready (watch Vikings!). Wifi was pretty good, although we’d get a bit of Netflix interruption if we used the wifi on our phones at the same time.||||And the view from the large balcony! Stunning. Could see all the way to Coromandel. We weren’t blessed with the best weather, otherwise would have spent a lot of time out there.||||Finally, the hosts, Brett and Veronica, were brilliant and ever helpful. Picked us up from the ferry, took us to the shop to do some groceries, provided honey from their beehive, took us to the car hire, and were always available, friendly, and welcoming.||||It’s a little remote (a good thing!) so you probably will need a car.||||All in all a really exceptional place to spend your...
