Wai-knot Accommodation — Hotel in Waiheke

Stumbling across Wai-knot on trip advisor with only 3 reviews I was dubious but with the retro caravans I would call this hideaway a glamping experience.||On checking in I was pleasantly surprised. Attention to detail was thoughtful with the finishing touches, the regenerated plantings provide a tranquil atmosphere and the bird life you hear in the trees all around you are amazing. However, heed Sally-Anne's warnings of the mozzies! They come out in force at night! ||The shared facility's of the WhareNui are a slightly new experience for myself but very clean and tidy with sufficient amenities available. It's a very peaceful & relaxing environment but right on the doorstep of the main town center.||Sally-Anne has created a home away from home with no attention to detail missed and succeeds in bringing her Maori heritage and the NZ kiwiana together. My wife and I spent a few days in Waiheke to start our adventure in New Zealand. What a great choice to stay at waiKnot. We stayed in one of the caravans and it was awesome. It was clean comfortable and peaceful. ||The shows rooms and toilets were modern and very clean. The kitchen/ dining area had everything you need. There was also free WiFi as well as facilities to do laundry. ||It’s about 10-15 minute walk to the Beach, a beautiful coastline. And there are some great restaurants by the beach as well. ||By the beach is the bus stop which runs frequently into the main town and back to the ferry port. The people in the neighbourhood were very friendly and helpful.||The owners were a pleasure and did their best to make us feel comfortable. A great place to go and relax. Absolutely gorgeous buildings, beautifully and thoughtfully styled, with amazing garden. Lots of thoughtful touches. Building layout was more like a hostel accommodation than glamping, with our ‘private room’ being in the same unit as the bathroom shared by all guests. This is not what I was expecting when I booked based on photos, had I been aware of this layout I would have preferred booking one of the caravans. In saying this Friday night was very enjoyable & peaceful. Unfortunately our experience was really let down on Saturday night by other guests who partied until the wee hours, even after asking them to turn off their music at midnight.
