I absolutely adore the architecture, beach and horseback rides. We came here to see the turtle laying eggs and it did happen for us. A local guide took us to the reserve and we ended up seeing many turtles laying eggs. It was a wonderful experience. As I said in the title, the location is amazing and the detail that went into building this place was high. However, I am not sure if the original vision did not include the service and menu or if someone else bought it and ruined it. The menu is overpriced and the quality is below average at its best. The staff is kind but clearly the MANAGEMENT / OWNER is not giving them what they need to succeed here. They had no fresh salad options, run out of bananas. The same vegetables that came with our steak ( We enjoyed our first dinner ) came in the overpriced, 12$ small size soup which did not include bread, rice, tostones or tortilla. ( we got this refunded after we got fed up with some other issue where they did not want to exchange ham for toast, which by the way was not fresh at all and cheap) I don't mind paying 12 dollars but what I got did not match the price in way, shape or form. I wish they would have same time of menu as they do in Mi VIejo Ranchito in Rivas where we stopped later and my wife got a seafood soup in that price range but it well worth it It was fresh lobster, fish, shrimp and more with beautiful tostones and lime. This place is located in an area where many fruits and vegetables grow and fish can be purchased fresh.. Why not make this a spectacular experience overall Walter? Overhaul the menu, train your staff and it will be a win win, more money for you and better place for people to stay.. :-) I understand it is hard to hear criticism from my own experience but when I am honest and brave enough to consider that I could be the problem when in comes to my organization, good things happen. We may return even despite all this but may not eat at the restaurant which is your lo$$... If the restaurant matched your location and architecture I would have no doubt we would keep coming back for years to come and I am sure...

Punta Teonoste is everything it claims to be and more. The breathtaking beach with soft sand and impressive surf, romantic bungalows, poolside restaurant, and free amenities and activities for guests (horseback riding, surf boards, bikes) really did meet and exeed expectation.||We were greeted with cold drinks by Narvin at concierge when we arrived, and we adored him immediately! He checked on us throughout our stay, and made sure we had all we needed. The servers were helpful and friendly, and some spoke English (Sergio is a wonderful conversationalist and lovely human being) and we will stay in touch with both of them.||The horseback rides along the beach at sunrise and sunset were highlights for our young family, as well as hours spent boogie-boarding in the incredible surf. The resort is well appointed and our kids were self-sufficient to come and go to the pool and beach on their own.||It was warm in the evenings but the fans and open air were a welcome change from all the air-conditioned places we stayed elsewhere., and the natural details throughout the bungalows, from furniture to the outdoor showers, were really beautiful and added to the distinct aesthetic appeal of the resort. ||The restaurant is very good and priced similar to Granada. For a change of pace we drove a few minutes into the main strip of Popoyo and had some less expensive meals in a more lively setting. ||Highly recommend Punta Teonoste for a peaceful, romantic or relaxed family experience.... incredible place and...

Blissful paradise.|Loved every minute of our stay. |Collected us from airport ($140) |We stayed in Oregano villa which had a closed air conditioned bedroom. |There was also a living room. Upstairs bedroom with sink and toilet. And outdoor bathroom with toilet, sink and shower. |Found outdoor showering a bit of a shock to start with: but soon learned to enjoy the experience and got acclimatised to the water temp. |The building has openings to the outside so do bring bug spray. We kept them out of bedroom but the rest of the hut had a few. ||You’re right on the beach: huge gorgeous private beach which is perfect for long walks and surfing. ||Food was lovely. Generous portions and generous with the protein- just how we like it. We loved the salads, lobster and chicken skewers. |Safe to drink tap water as well which is great. ||Brown and Jose spoke wonderful English and looked after us so well on our trip. All the staff were wonderful and friendly and couldn’t have made it more special. They all went above and beyond to deliver excellent service. |They even set up a special dinner for us one night under fairy lights which was wonderful.||Comfy sunbeds perfect for snoozing. |Loved being there. Left rested and relaxed. Couldn’t be more chilled. Felt like going back to basics. In the most wonderful way. ||Wifi in the main area and pool (good enough we watched Netflix in the evenings) but no WiFi in the rooms. ||Hope to...

Very disappointing experience. Reserved a room with 3 beds and air conditioning. Upon arrival we were shown to our room and 2 of the beds were upstairs with no AC and no fan. With it being over 100° during the day it was impossible to sleep in the upstairs area as we are accustomed to sleeping in AC and paying $200 per night for a unit with AC. We could have easily booked a hostel at a fraction of the cost. Sadly that's not the worst part. After a long day of travel I was ready for rest but when I pulled the sheets back I found rat poop all over the bed. I called the front desk and was assured someone would come by and change the sheets. After waiting 45 mins no one showed. I called 3 more times with no result. I then went to the desk in person. At this point they sent someone with me with new sheets. Clearly we didn't want to stay another night but after 2 hours of this it was now 10pm and we didn't have much of a choice for that night. The next morning we talked with Elmer, the manager, he was aware of our situation and agreed to refund our money. He said it would be 3 days for the refund. Now after 14 days we have received no refund and Elmer has said in emails that he is not refunding us our entire stay. This is unacceptable. Do yourself a favor and stay elsewhere. The beds are unsanitary and they are dishonest.

Wonderful hotel right on the beach. First time having such a cool room with an outdoor bathroom! So glad my room had AC because it was HOT and I can't sleep with just a fan. Food was delicious though it took around 30 minutes on average to be served. Cocktail drinks were okay, one bartender was better at making them than another so if you get Jose you're in good hands. Only one employee, Derling, and the manager spoke English so the rest I had to use Google translate to help me communicate. They were all very friendly and helpful with smiles on their faces. Pool was nice and cold for a hot day and the ocean water was cool with strong waves. I decided not to go on the horse ride but it was available to me. Wifi was free and strong. The ambiance of the place was calming and relaxing and with only 4 other guests with me it was very quiet. Great stay overall if you want to be super relaxes and tucked away.

Nice and secluded hotel on the beach with restaurant and bar. The staff is very nice and friendly and attentive. The beach feels private and water is refreshing. The set up is that there are 15 bungalows which are purposely rustic and while ours had AC the 2nd floor didn't and was open air which meant some in the party had a very different comfort experience. The power and wifi went out and even when wifi was up is it is spotty and slow. So if you go and you should know that prepare accordingly. Bathrooms are private but open air which is quite unique and different.
