Chosen Hotel Limited — Hotel in Edo State

When this was booked for me, I was told that it was the best hotel in Ekpoma. Oh boy! I cannot imagine what the rest would be like. Check in was easy; it was a group booking and I was the last to arrive so I guess that the major kinks had been ironed out. Check out was easy too. ||||My first impression was that it was pretty OK. The reception area wasn't big. It was about the size of a city centre hotel's (I guess this qualifies as a city centre). The room on the other hand was a different kettle of fish. It smelled damp. I had to open up the windows. Bed was neatly laid and the sheets looked clean. Bathroom was really bad. Water was leaking from the water heater (which worked in the evening but not the next morning and I had to take a cold shower), the tub and bathmat looked grimy. There was a filthy looking bucket and the towel was not clean looking. It made me regret not coming with my personal towel. The worst is yet to come. There were cockroaches in my room. COCKROACHES. I was here in 2019 and perhaps the hotel was new then and the facilities were better compared to now. I think there's either a case of mismanagement or owners neglect. The restroom water facility in the room I took is bad, toilet doesn't flush. Made a complaint at the reception and he asked why I didn't make the complaint earlier and even after 24hrs it wasn't fixed. I think the Hotel is just overpriced with the nature I found it recently. A surprisingly nice place to stay in Ekpoma. Good location and easy to access. Cozy rooms. Neat and clean rooms. The room interior is very welcoming and romantic. Friendly and courteous staff.
