Spent quite a bit of time at Jonesville recently. It was a fairly good hotel.
The Pros It has a very good location on Muritala Muhammed way and its pretty easy to find.
The staff were very, very, responsive. From the security man to the Manager. And even when they couldn't solve your issues, you would not be in doubt that they attempted to.
The rooms come equipped with fridges, ACs (albeit old) and Fans. TVs too but i never tried to turn it on. They also have a microwave in their kitchenette.
I also enjoyed the room service. The bedsheets and blankets were changed often enough to make me comfortable.
The rooms were huuge. The wardrobes were big enough to take 6 grown adults and there ware drawers and usable spaces everywhere. I liked that.
CONS The hotel is oooold! And it acts like it. On your first entry, you get a sense of what Eddie Murphy's haunted mansion must have smelt like. You get used to it gradually though.
There were no nets anywhere. So you couldn't carelessly open your windows because all sorts of things will fly in- adding a touch to the haunted mansion look.
There were rats. Not the quiet eat-your-stuff-and-runaway-kind but the aggressive, I-want-what-is-in-your-hand-as-you-are-eating-it kind, they chased me, fought with me, stared me down, fought themselves over my bin and generally made my stay horrible.
The lighting was bad. Due to the hotel's age, most of the lampholders weren't good so the rooms were honestly pretty dark all through my stay. Add a dark room and a creeping rat. Or a few creeping rats. Yep, lots of screams= Haunted mansion.
The bathroom was disgusting. The space was generally washed but there were old stains that no one had seen fit to address and it just lingered. Fortunately, in both rooms, the bathrooms were very well lighted because God forbid you fall in there.
6.Everything I know about wall banging bedroom activities, I learnt at Jonesville. Their headboards are screwed to the walls, so many a night, when other customers began their adventures, I was the one who got headaches. I can't say why the headboards were screwed to the walls or the necessity of these other customers to disturb others but it happened at least 10 of the nights I spent there. Exhausting.
Overall, it was a good day that I would not hurriedly repeat. It was safe though and...

However a lot of renovation and reconstruction works were ongoing in the few days spent with accompanying noise and litter. While the rooms are fairly comfortable, my bathroom had a very poor shower with the shower-rose completely absent! (see photo).||It would be a good thing to fumigate the entire premises during/after the renovation work and also install functional Wifi. There are no visible cabs around so movement would be difficult if you do not have your own vehicle. Overall Jonesville is an average hotel in that part of mainland with very few...
