This hotel surprised me. My expectations were low to start with but I'm happy to say that they've been exceeded. The hotel has genuine quality. Great infrastructure, great staff and great menu. The food was exceptional although it has a Nigerian bent to it, but foreigners will find plenty to interest them. The food and wine were well priced. I spent double for the dinner buffet at the Lagos Continental Hotel for similar quality. Now manager, don't go increasing the price! The hotel is clean in both the public and private spaces. The room furnishing is quite modern. The bathrooms are scrupulously clean and with all the right amenities. I stayed in a suite on the first night and it had a huge bathroom with a separate bath and 2 showers. One shower is over the bath. The simple white tile colour palette worked well, giving it a crisp finish. The water pressure was perfect. The smaller bathroom in the deluxe guest room had a similar crisp white look, with a huge shower but no bath. The room amenities include robes and slippers. I can't remember if a safe was provided. I rarely use those. The swimming pool and surrounds looked nice. We had a group cocktail party there and it provided a nice backdrop. The whole hotel had a nice ambience and you wanted to hang out there. Finally, the staff were really great. Efficient but friendly. I remember Billion the front office manager who sorted out my reservation problems. She was really courteous and very helpful. All the staff were like that but I forgot names. I remember Ugechi who seemed to have a little smile all the time. Others were the same though. The hotel felt secure and each floor had a permanent security guard/bellman stationed there. I thoroughly enjoyed my 4 nights in this hotel and I will proclaim that it's probably the best in Ibadan. I have three complaints/suggestions.
When it comes to elegant dining in Ibadan, Ododo Restaurant at the Golden Tulip Hotel stands in a class of its own. From the moment we stepped in, it was clear this wasn’t just another meal—it was an experience ✨
The staff set the tone immediately—warm, professional, and genuinely attentive. We were greeted with smiles 😊, seated comfortably, and handed menus with a thorough explanation of the dishes.
Our waiter was knowledgeable, patiently answering questions and offering recommendations without any rush.
I ordered: Jollof Rice with Grilled Chicken Breast 🍚🍗 – Rich, flavorful, and perfectly spiced. The chicken was tender, juicy, and well-seasoned.
Chicken Caesar Salad 🥗 – Fresh, crisp, with just the right amount of dressing and parmesan.
Moscow Mule 🍹 – Zesty, well-balanced, and refreshing.
My date had: White Rice with Chicken Curry Sauce 🍚🍛 – Creamy, aromatic, and packed with flavor.
Strawberry Daiquiri 🍓🍹 – Not only delicious but the largest I’ve ever been served 😲—generous and blended to perfection.
The portion sizes were massive 🍽️—I came in hungry and still couldn’t finish 😮💨. We took leftovers home 🥡, which just meant enjoying the meal twice!
Wait time (30-45 mins) was communicated upfront, so no surprises. We got complimentary bread & butter 🥖🧈 that kept us satisfied while waiting. Presentation and plating were on par with high-end restaurants.
Ododo Restaurant delivers on every front—food, service, and atmosphere. And since they also have a Chinese restaurant 🇨🇳 in the same hotel, I’ll definitely be back to explore more 👀.
Highly recommended for dates 💘, special occasions 🎉, or whenever you crave top-tier...
Read moreBad service So I am to give more details, here go Came over to the hotel to celebrate with my colleague our work anniversary. We tried the 5 continental and it was so uncomfortable, very hot. So we decided to go to the restaurant indoor, we sit down and had to call someone to give us a menu and there is nothing I hate that calling restaurant staff. We decided to order am appetiser before our meal but apparently the staff do not know what an appetiser is cause we sat for about an hour before I had to call the attention of the staff (which I hate) to know why our order was late They claim they had a lot of order inhouse,, by the way a couple came in after us sat for about 20 minutes and left cause and I quote' you people are not serious ' They FINALLY brought the appetiser then we had to wait for the main course, keep in mind we came in when the sun was up and had sat till the sun set AT A FREAKING RESTAURANT! instead of having to wait more we decided to have our meal taken away and I have to say I have been in some restaurants and they have some nice looking takeaway packages but this 'restaurant' just packed into the...
