Crispan Hotel, Jos. — Hotel in Plateau State

Since I live in Jos, I watched the construction of this hotel with interest. This week, I've been here as a guest and I'm not so enthusiastic about the hotel any longer. I'll be leaving tomorrow and I'm looking forward to returning home.

Crispan should be at least 4-star hotel but as my experience stands, it is a 2.5-star hotel.

First, I need to make it clear that I stayed in the Treasures Royal Hotel Annex (the new building) but conducted my entire work in the halls in the main building.

So let me start with the issues. Rooms a. The Good *Very clean. Bedsheets are changed. *No odours. Spacious

b. What needs improvement a. Water pressure in the bathrooms. On the 3rd floor, the shower is really weak. Give buckets if you have to.

b. Towels: since my arrival, my towels have gotten smaller and smaller. Now, I have just one tiny towel which is the size of gym towels. I have put a photograph of the towel on my laptop. You can't wrap it round your head.

c. Pillows. The poor pillows are encapsulated in tiny pillowcases so they're terribly hard and uncomfortable. Photograph attached. Please open the pillowcases. It can't be hard.

Main Building For the luxurious main building, you cannot ignore what is wrong.

Around the toilet area and other places, you can notice broken tiles etc. The toilet attached to the hall we used shakes. The tiles are not properly cleaned. The entire experience is missing because guests can notice the lack of attention to the details.

Food Please get a CHEF and not a COOK. The food combination has been disgusting. One day, we were served yam pottage plus pasta mixed with eggs. Is that really a meal?

The buffet combination today was rice and yam pottage. What happened to balanced diets? In a cheap city like Jos, where are the fruits accompanying meals?

Gym Being fitness conscious, I was extremely happy about the gym but on Day 1, the treadmill stopped suddenly while I was running at 8.5km/hr. It made the blood rush to my head and I almost had a redout. The functional treadmills need you to run at 6.6km/hr and above. If you have to stop, you have to jump to the side rails. Not safe on any count. The rest of the equipment I tried worked well though.

Mini mart The mini mart has no POS. I mean, really?

Staff Attitude The staff are mostly friendly. With a little training, they can become deliberate about providing service.

Conclusion Crispan and Treasure Royal Hotels needs to pay attention to the whole hotel and not just the vip side. Because of the size of the hotel, the staff need to be trained on handling a large volume of guests.

What is lacking is the professional hotel touch. A hotel should be more than a beautiful building or a lot of buildings. It's obvious that money was spent here. It is also obvious that there is no customer experience here.

I'm rooting for this hotel to do better. It is still new so there's hope. But it should be created now or else, it would become like any Jos hotel in 2...

The staff in place left a very bad taste in my mouth. I was here to swim sometime in October 2023, and I was very impressed with how warm and clean the pool was.

One sunny afternoon, at about 2 pm on 28/01/2024, I visited here with my friend after bragging about how excellent their services were. We were met with a cold non-flowing pool with lots of dirt floating on the surface. In fact, we were the only ones who had paid to swim.

I explained the situation to the staff we paid to. I explained that the water wasn't recycling, hence the dirt and the cold temperature. He was literally telling me that I didn't know what I was saying. He walked away not doing anything to fix the problem. I escalated the issue to his superior and in his exact words, he said, "Madam you don't know what you're talking about. If you're cold you're cold".

This situation caused a scene that left me embarrassed as there were many people from an event staring at me in my swimsuit. I ended up walking away to change up (even though my friend decided to manage the water as it were for a period of 30 minutes).

I definitely will not recommend that anyone comes here to swim or waste their money. The behaviour was absolutely unacceptable from people who wish to stay in business. I wish them the best with the path they...

Crispan Hotel is located close to Air Force Military School and offers a decent balance of comfort accessibility, and good standard. It's location is convenient, being close to residential areas and main activities in town, yet it remains quiet enough for rest and relaxation. The hotel compound is spacious and open, which adds to the sense of freedom and makes the environment feel less restrictive compared to smaller hotels.

The rooms are neat, comfortable, and fairly priced, delivering a good level of value at basic features. Bathrooms are clean and well maintained, which is gives a level of comfort when using. The restaurant is adequate, serving meals that are acceptable with minimal varieties. As with most other places, rooms comes with a complimentary breakfast for one.

The water pressure in taps and showers, as is common in many of the hotels, is relatively low. While this may not be so in all the rooms, it is something that could be improved to enhance the services. The flow of hot water seems not to be enough for long stay in shower.
